I walked out of my apartment door and headed downstairs. I live in an apartment complex in reseda psa (I say that a lot so expect it to come up). Once I get downstairs I knock on Miguel's door.
Ever sense Miguel moved in we've been really close, us being the only kids around are age in the complex an all. The door opens to revel his grandma she smiled and yell something in Spanish before walking back into the house. A few seconds later Miguel came running down the hall and up to the door. "Hey Kat what's up" I shrug "I'm bored" he laugh and smiled at me, gosh I love his smile.
It's so charming and his boyish laugh just makes it that much better. "Wanna go on a walk" he suggested "it's a beautiful day out" he continued pointing at the clear blue sky dotted with small clouds. "Sounds good" "Ok hold up" he leaned back inside a bit "yeah mom me and kat are going on a walk. Be back in a bit" we wait till we hear a faint 'ok' deep inside the house. We where about 2 minutes into are walk when he started talking about sam.
I could feel my heart break every time he complimented something about her. How pretty her hair was, how bright her eyes are. "I'm telling you kat, I've never met anyone like her" I just nod and look down an Miguel's a little to caught up in his rant to notice my... discomfort with the topic. Small tears start to cloud my vision as I really start to assess my situation. He'd never pick me, I mean why would he?
Sam so much better, she's beautiful and smart. I could never compete with her, I've got nothing to offer. I feel the tears fall when Miguel finally noticed. "Hey, hey what's wrong" he said stepping out in front of me putting his arms on my shoulders. I just shake my head and feel more tears rush down. "Katarina, hey look at me" I look up at him and my heart just breaks more knowing that the man in front of me will never love me like I love him. "Tell me what's wrong" he ushered bringing me closer to him.
"You'll never love me the way you love her" was all I could muster out before bolting. I didn't even know where I was running to but I ran, I could hear Miguel call for me and run after me for a bit but eventually gave up. I ran until I was out of breath and look at my surroundings. I was in a nice neighborhood standing in front of a really nice tan colored house. I know this house, this is moons house. Me and moon are good friends but we don't hang out as much anymore sense she's been with Yasmin and I've been with Miguel.
I let out a sigh before walking up to the front door. I knock on it and wait a second before moon swung the door open. "Katarina! Long time no see" I let out a sad chuckle at how happy she was. She soon noticed my dried tears "why the gloom and doom" she asked opening the door a little wider signaling me too come in. "I admitted my feelings to Miguel, kinda did anyways" I said walking in and sitting on her couch. When I figured out I was developing feeling for Miguel, moon was the first person I too. "Ok.... walk me through it" she said walking over and sitting down next to me placing her hands on top of mine.
I tell her the hole thing start to finish and she lets out a sigh. "Ok first let me tell you you have nothing to feel ashamed about. You are just as beautiful and smart as Sam. You know what else you are? Sweet, caring, creative, and a great listener. Anyone would be lucky to call you there's kat. He'll come around and if he doesn't that is his loss" I smiled up at her "how'd you get so good at relationships" she shrugged "I think dating hawk has really put things into perspective. Plus I just smoked some really good weed" I let out a chuckle.
I stay there a couple more minutes before heading back. On my way home I thought things over, moon was right I can be just as good as Sam. I walk up to my door and glancing at Miguel's apartment door on my way to my apartment. I stop at his door for a split second before backing out, confidents leaving me immediately. I unlock my door and turn on the lights. When the apartment light finally flick on I look up to see Miguel standing in front of my dining room table with a rose in his hand.
"Fancy meeting you here" he mumbled obviously nervous but I didn't really catch on because I was in such awe of the scene unfolding before me. He stepped out of the way so I could get a view of the table. I see a pizza box sitting on the table with my 3 most favorite movies of all time on top of the box. "You like it" Miguel said nervously with his ears turning bright red and lip in between his teeth as he talked. "After you left I took into considered what you said. Katarina, you've been there for me scenes I first got here. Before the fights, before the confidence, before cobra kai. When I was just this weird awkward kid, you where there. I realized how much you mean to me. I realized-" he paused and stepped up to me and grabbing both my hands and looking into my eyes.
"-.. I realized how much, I love you" I stare at him wide eyed. Please say he's not kidding I repeat to myself as he pulled me closer and rapped his arms around me "and if you would do me the honers of being my girlfriend, I promise to treat you right like you deserve, and show you more love and effecting then humanly possible" I feel a slight tear start to form as my smile grows "of course Miguel, Id love to be your girlfriend" I rap my arms around his neck and bring him in for a passionate, loving hug. We stay like this for a minute before pulling away.
"Ok so your moms working a double shift tonight so we have the place to ourselves. I've got your favorite, pizza and your favorite moves. I also borrowed a screen and projector from sensei, soo. Katarina, would you like to go on our first date?" I chuckled at his corky attitude. "I would like that a lot"
