Hello lovely judges! In this chapter, we will explain everything you need to know about this contest. After you've read it all through, if you're still excited to join us, please fill out the form. Thanks very much for helping us out!
Note: You can enter the contest and judge, but you cannot judge the category your story is in.
▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪
This contest will have three rounds. For each round, you will have a maximum of two weeks to complete the judging. If you need an extension, please let us know as soon as possible. You will only be able to get ONE WEEK extension, no more than that. Otherwise, it messes up the timeline. You will be judging an entire category, which is 20 books. However, there will already be some entries eliminated after round 1, so there are 15 books left for round 2. Before you sign up to be a judge, please take a moment to think about whether you've got the time to do that. It's better to not sign up than to drop out halfway through.
For every book you read, and for every round, you will have to write a few lines about what you liked and disliked about the book so far. Look at this as justification for the scores you've given. For example, your feedback might go into the cover, blurb and the grammar of the first chapter. Make sure you always say WHY you liked/disliked something. So don't just say "The cover was good." Instead, say "The cover is very pretty. The colors work well together, the picture fits the story and the title really pops out." Also, don't just stick to one area (cover only), but say something about a few areas (cover, blurb, and grammar).
