I've always thought that when you fell in love, your destination would always be the moon—far away and ethereal. I feel like this came from the phrase I often heard growing up around me "I love you to the moon and back." It always struck a chord with me how two people could be so in love that they would aim for the moon.
So when the time came that love found its way to me, I was sure we were headed for that one destination—the moon.
Yes, we were in love; he took me to there, and yes it seemed romantic while it lasted.
But no one knew how lonely it felt to be left here—on that floating rock that was once our home.Ever since our ill-fated journey to the moon, I've been sending out letters, in hopes that he'd come back for me—that he'd finally find what he's looking for.
Within these pages, you'll get to see what I saw throughout the expedition, and what happened after.
