NEWT GRANT FELT HIS HEART BEATING QUICKLY. He could have swear that Toomes,Peter and Liz could hear his heartbeat. Toomes was in the drivers seat,as Newt was in the passengers seat as Peter and Newt were in the back. Liz was looking at herself through her phone camera,wearing the corsage Peter had gotten for her. But Peter was just staring out at the window.
Toomes had noticed the way Peter was staring out the window. And not talking to his date or supposedly best friend. "What are you gonna do,Pete?"
Newt looked up,seeing how Peter was now confused. "What?"
Toomes looked back at Peter,seeing how he was confused. He had clarified even more. "When your graduate,what do you think you're gonna do?"
Newt smiled,as he knew Peter couldn't say what he had actually thought. "Oh,um,I don't know."
Liz looked up,hearing how her father was interrogating the boy. "Don't grill him,dad."
Toomes shrugged his shoulders,glancing back at his daughter for a split second. "Just saying,you know. All you guys who go to that school,you pretty much have your life planned out,right?"
Newt quickly came to save Peter,placing his phone into the pants. "We are just sophomores. But Peter does have an internship with Tony Stark,so he is further in life than me."
All three looked at Newt,as he had suddenly joined the conversation. When he turned around and looked at Peter for another split second. "Really?"
Liz hummed along with Newt. "Stark?"
Liz smiles at Peter,looking over at him. "So cool."
Toomas continued his conversation with Peter. "What do you do?"
Newt didn't understand why Toomas was like this. He understood why he was asking the questions. But it was the way he asked the question. "Yeah,actually, I don't intern for him anymore."
Liz turned to Peter,as did Newt. "Seriously? "Really? How come you didn't tell me?"
