Maxine’s POV

Johnny’s hand skated up my thighs as we made out on the couch in the living room. My hands were occupying his shoulders as his mouth roamed my neck causing a moan to escape from me. His tongue darted out and drew circles on the spot that connected my neck to my shoulder.

‘Johnny you’re killing me’ I huffed out, making him stop. My boyfriend didn’t say anything just pulled me forward by my hips till his lips touched the top of my breasts causing my eyes to flutter closed.

‘Johnny’ I pleaded to him,

‘Don’t encourage me Max’ he grinned against my shivering skin. I lowered my head and kissed his mouth so that he could suffer like I was right now. His hands moved from my hips to my thighs and pulled my closer to straddle him.

‘Can you two get a room!’ Uncle Ben boomed as he stood in the doorway, his rocky hands balled into fists. I frowned and moved off Johnny’s lap.

‘What is it Uncle Ben?’ I asked him.

‘Nothing’ he grumbled, ‘I just wanted Mr Blonde Ambition to get his hands off of my niece’

I sighed, ‘Uncle Ben I’m dating Johnny, we might make out a little’ I admitted.

‘A lot actually’ Johnny murmured in my ear and took my hand in his.

Ben gave a low growl,

‘Just keep it to a minimum lovebirds’ with that he turned on his heel and left. I felt Johnny’s hot breath on my neck, I smiled and went to go and kiss him when Reed appeared in the doorway,

‘Hey Max I found-‘

‘Oh god seriously!’ I snap at him and break away from my boyfriend. Reed gave a startled look and then continued to talk.

‘I found these old notes on my desk, I think Sue filed them incorrectly’ he stated matter-of-factly. Geez, Reed has not changed. His expression didn’t even waver when he saw that me and Johnny were in a moment.

‘Don’t you dare blame it on me mister!’ we heard Sue shout from down the hall. Reed grinned and thrust out the notes to me. I unwillingly got up and retrieved the papers.

‘Sorry Johnny raincheck’ I said and took a seat on the opposite chair. I scanned the old notes, most were just failed gadget blueprints, dark matter molecular energy reports, astrophysics homework that I’d gotten from Naveen years and years ago. Oh Naveen! I haven’t talked to her in ages. I mean I had wanted to call her since that incident with New York happened, but I imagined she wanted her space. I knew from experience that when you had near death experiences, no close friend was going to be able to comfort you.

I realised that I had been staring at the old homework and thought that maybe it was time that I actually caught up with her. And not in a superhero environment either, just a cup of coffee or dinner or something as friends. I flicked through to find Naveen’s number and managed to find her personal profile. Her old superhero name “Priestess” had been crossed out and was replaced with “Ecto”. And her position in the Avengers was changed to leader of “The Three Elements”. Finally I found her number, got out my phone and dialled Naveen Stark.

Naveens’ POV

It was his move. We were playing chess by the window of Stark Tower. At the moment I was winning, I had taken his Queen and both of his rooks. Steve rested his chin in his hand and was looking very seriously at the chess board. I was sitting back in my chair admiring my boyfriend sitting across from me. The chiselled defining lines of his cheekbones and jawline, his dirty blonde hair and the sky blue eyes. I grinned to myself as I looked at the man of muscle trying to figure out how to check mate me. His shoulders raised slightly as he exasperated and made his move.
