Chapter 18: Old Memories and Training

* Valentina's father^ *

The guy who she thought was dead for five years is here.

Her father.

Tears started to well up in her eyes. She ran up to him and hugged him like her life depended on it.

"I've missed you so much my baby girl. I swear I'll tell you everything you want to know love." He croaked softly, his British accent thick and he also embraced her as if she'd disappear.

She nodded into his broad shoulders and smiled up at him.

"Honestly dad I'm glad you're here with me... alive." She laughed lightly and resumed her embrace.

Ray was in the corner respecting his alpha and his daughters moment looking admirably at Valentina, Derek on the other hand... Cleared his throat and spoke up.

"First off who's Valentina? Second, um we need to find the other Golden wolf and start training. We don't know when this mysterious attack will happen." Derek says, obviously avoiding the alphas glare.

"Childhood name and right" Val mutters while they break apart.

Ray was already out the door and up the stairs to his library.

Alpha Caine glared behind Derek's back when he grabbed Valentina by the hand with a smile he knew was fake and brought her up with him following Ray's path.

Caine knew Derek back then and it wasn't for the good things.

'If he wasn't my daughters mate he'd be dead by now' he thought.

That night on the full moon in the woods, Alpha Caine could have sworn Derek remembered at least his voice but yet Caine had controlled him to close his eyes so that'd he'd keep his existence a secret.

At his pack house Caine felt a tingly feeling in his chest and a sense of invasion, which meant that someone powerful had crossed his border.

That's when he called up Ray and they both went their separate ways into the woods to find out who'd had crossed.

When the Alpha had smelled a familiar scent, he thought it could have been his daughter that he's been looking for ever since he faked his death.

He searched for the scent until he sneaked up on Derek, controlling him to stay still.

He couldn't decipher why Valentina's scent was on him which left him to two choices, one being Derek killed her; which made him even more angry at the mere thought of it, or two they were... mates.

'If I killed you, my daughter will never forgive me' he thought that night.

And that's also when Ray had seen Valentina for the first time. The alpha had shown him pictures of Val when she was a pre teen. That was the time the Alpha had needed someone he trusted to help him find his daughter, the upcoming golden wolf.

When Ray was up on the trees looking for any male or female figure who has crossed his Alphas border, he had found the most beautiful girl with the most confused and alert look on her face.

Ray had seen her before and it took a good second for him to realize that it was the girl in the picture that was claimed to be as his alphas daughter.

Though he sensed something weird but also a flattering churn in his heart at the sight and smell of her.

He shook his head continuously when he thought that she could be his second true mate which is very rare.

His first mate had been murdered when they were both 15 years old. After that, he had never looked for anyone to replace her or felt anything real until he seen Valentina.
