Chapter 19: Panic

Kyara's POV

"Alright let's go on this ride next, Alex." I smiled toward the birthday boy filled with happiness. It's been a whole week since I've met him and we already have this sibling bond.

He ran toward the next ride excitedly while I tightened my hold on Zach.

It felt safe and warm.

High School was finally over and summer was here.

Today, Valentina told me everything about her Wolf, her father being alive and this mysterious "monster" that hasn't shown any sign it's coming out.

Everyone else thinks it's just a messed up joke but her and this guy named Ray think otherwise.

If this "thing" was coming, it would have came a while ago.

"Hey, look at me." Zach spoke softly into my ear. Giving me chills on this hot night.

I looked up and smiled at his beautiful face as he leaned in and gave me a soft kiss.

Everything going on between Zach and I have been very fucking well.

Everything is just perfect. But ew I hate myself being all lovey dovey and gullible around him but I guess for Zach it's worth it.

I felt my phone vibrate with a text.

Who uses Zulu anymore?

It look me awhile to figure out what it said since its been so long and who this was from, until my heart stopped completely.

I stopped breathing, I was in incomplete shock.

How can someone as evil pull this off? And how can we all be so stupid to not notice? Especially Valentina and I?

After Zach looked straight at me wondering what was wrong, I heard a faint scream to my left.

Alex's POV

I ran to the next ride but still kept my cool while doing it. I mean, there are some cute ladies here.

I waited in line and looked back to see my cousin and his hot mate looking at each other before... I looked away before I looked at something gross. PDA, just get a room.

I felt a tap on my shoulder and I looked back again to see this gorgeous girl about my age with a bit of fear in her eyes. I looked to her in confusion trying to contemplate why.

Wait, since when did I start talking all big and fancy?

"Uh, yeah?" I asked her shaking my head from my stupid thoughts.

"Um, want to go somewhere with me?" She asked hesitantly and shook her head lightly as if telling me to say no.

I was confused, why would she ask me anyway?

I looked at her trying to figure out her motive but next thing I know I'm being carried by a cold hard grip.

"You took to long, Maria!" The man that was holding me said in a weird accent.

But once I realize that this is actually happening, I scream for Kiara and Zach to notice and once they look my direction, they start to run toward me.

I felt a sharp pain in my leg and I started to see irregularly.

"Zach! Help me!" Were  my last words until I was dragged into some kind of truck.

This can't be happening.

Melissa D. Turners POV

(this will explain why Chris and his new mate showed up unexpectedly at Alpha Caine's Territory, meeting with his brother, Ray. If you remember, Melissa also met with Valentina when the MDT pack tried to strike back at Derek's pack but Melissa backed down when she figured Valentina was a golden wolf.)

I ran away from the vampires with Chris until we lost them.

We were in deep trouble.

Once we lost them, we start to run more to buy us some extra time so we can catch our breaths and so that they won't catch our scent.

"What are we gonna do now and how are we gonna keep up with this? I don't wanna spend the rest of my life running away! Chris-!"

He interrupted. "Baby, please don't be upset with me. If we didn't find each other at that exact moment, we wouldn't have been together right now having this conversation and I think that's all that matters baby."

He tried for a kiss but I blocked it.

It killed me to reject a kiss from my mate but I was really mad at him right now.

"Don't be like that" he came closer to me, giving me goosebumps.

"How do you want me to be? All happy and shit because some fucking vampires from a strong blood line are trying to keep us captive and torture us from what you did back there? I don't think so." I told him boldly.

"Look, I'll find a place for us to stay. I have a brother up in the west who's alpha is very and I mean very powerful who can keep us safe. But we're not all in good terms..."

"Of course you're not in good terms." I said sarcastically.

"I'll keep you safe. I'll keep us safe." He stated seriously, looking straight into my eyes. I didn't even notice how close we were until I actually really looked at my mate. I also didn't even notice how long I took to respond.

"You're a beautiful man." I finally told him almost fascinated like. I took my hands and held on tightly to his.

"Well, we'll have the most beautiful children then." He winked.

I laughed until I heard the loudest thunder noise.

"Are you okay?" He asked me.

"Yeah, let's just get going before they catch up."
