Chap. 12: Eh, what the hell?

We (as in the present Pack members) were having a meeting. I mean, here we are, all crouching off to the side while the rest of the Akatsuki were also in a conference. That didn't help our nerves at all. Especially since they kept looking over at us.

"Oi, Pink-Haired Banshee! What are ya gunna do?!" Kibbles hissed at me quietly. "You're not thinkin' of joining them alone, are ya?"

"Who the hell said I'd be joining them, you stupid dog?! I wasn't even thinking of joining these people, did you already forget I was looking for Orochimaru and Kabuto?! Kiba-baka!"

Kono-kun and Sai-kun watched us, sweat dripping down on the sides of their head, Aka-kun was watching us curiously. I sighed in frustration, placing my hands to my temple, rubbing gently. I sighed again before looking at my group. "I'm gonna ask my tenant what he thinks."

'Kagami-kun, what do you think I should do?'

They want you to join the Akatsuki, right? Well, I say ask them the reason why. Of it's good, say yes, but set down some conditions.

'Conditions?'

Yeah, you know that way Kono-kun, Aka-kun, and the rest of the pack are allowed to join.

'Kagami-kun.... you need to share your words of wisdom more often.'

I could feel him smile. Is that a compliment, Ms. Haruno?

I smiled back. 'Yes it was Mr.... Uh what's your last name?'

..... I'm disappointed in you, go away.

'What? What'd I do?!'

You're acting like a blonde. We share the same last name. Baka.

'Since when?! Wait, when did we agree to this?!'

Since we both were in your mommas' womb.

'N-nani?! Wait, you don't mean we're twins do you?! Don't answer me bluntly either! Stop acting all mysterious, you- you person!'

You're an idiot. Speak with Pein-chan, then we, meaning all present Pack members, will speak face-to-face. Goodbye for now, Pinkie. Ta-ta!

'No, wait! Kagami-kun! I still have questions!'

Our telepathic conversation was cut short and I fell to my knees, sort of off-balance from the suddenness. Sai-kun lunged and managed to catch me before I hit my head against the log I'd been sitting on. I felt the gang members shoot up from where they were sitting, tense and suspicious. I groaned

"That stupid blue-haired man..." I gripped my head slightly, eyes shut tightly before I pried them open. Looking up into the worried face of the ex-Anbu, I gave a small, weak smile. "Thanks for catching me, Sai-kun."

"Are you alright, Pinkie? Did he cut it too soon?" Kibbles asked me quickly, almost making my head spin with how fast.

"Down, boy, and yes, he did cut it short..." I trailed off with a puzzled frown before quickly shaking my head. "But that doesn't matter. Pein-chan! I have a question!"

Pein-chan blinked at me slowly, cautiously nodding. "What is it, Haruno-san?"

My eyebrow twitched at that. "Please don't address me like that. Call me Pinkie! Anyway, why do you want me to join you guys?"

He stared at me before deadpanning. Jabbing a finger in the direction of Hidan, Deidara, and... Tobi, I think he's called, he spoke in a lightly annoyed tone. "The three imbeciles-" "Hey-!" "-keep getting themselves hurt, so I realized despite Konans' small knowledge in the healing arts, it isn't enough to fix Deidaras' missing arm, Hidans' insides, and Tobis' stupidity."

I stifled a giggle while the rest of the Pack burst into hysterics. Managing to calm the giggles in my (still undeveloped :'( ) chest, I asked one final question. "Say I accept your request, will the rest of my Pack be able to join as well?"

Pein-chans' eyes furrowed as Konan asked, "What do you mean by Pack?"

I blinked at her, confused. "Like a wolf pack. Is there any other Pack that you know of?

She opened her mouth to reply before looking at Pein-chan, as did the others, with a lost look. He stared at me in a way that made me think he was trying to figure me out. Kakuzu spoke. "Will they cost anything? The Akatsuki bank account wouldn't have to pay them for anything would they? And they wouldn't be living at the base?"

He had a suspicious tone that had me scowling at him. "Of course not. They can take care of themselves. Besides, they already live on the Occultus Nubila Mons Lupus*. They needn't a new place to live."

"Occultus Nubila Mons Lupus? Whas that?" Tobi asked me, staring at me through the whole of his mask.

"The Hidden Mist Wolf Mountain, Occultus Nubila Mons Lupus in Latin," Kono-kun answered for me. "It's where the Temple of the High Alpha of the Sky resides."

They stared at him blankly, before turning to me. I frowned at them. "I ain't telling you guys when he just did. Can't get any simpler than that. Anyway, Pein-chan, you never answered my question."

Pein-chan snapped out of his thinking and glanced at me. "I don't see why they wouldn't. It'd be a package deal, if you were to join."

I stared at him in a scrutinizing way. I turned towards Aka-kun, Kibbles, Sai-kun, and Kono-kun. They all wore the same look: One that said no matter what happened, they'd be right by my side and trust in my decisions. A slow, familiar grin slipped onto my face, followed along on their faces as we turned back to the Akatsuki.

"Ah, what the hell! Let's get started, Tangerine-head!"

"T-tangerine..?!"

'He is, isn't he? Kinda adorable. (Swoons)'

Pinkie.. No, just no.

'Shut up.'

I updated! And before the 20th! Be glad, my little people fans/followers. Also, I apologize for stalling for the 2 or more weeks that've passed since last time. Could you guys look at my Polls and Confusion book? I have a question(s) in there for not only this story, but also others as well. I decided it'd be easier if I put the requests/polls I had in there for you guys instead of piling it all in one huge paragraph on each book and after each chapter. That one will probably be updated more often, mainly if I'm stuck or need to know something. So could ya'll check it out? There's more of an explanation on the first Poll.
