There will forever so someone who's doesn't like you. Someone who's smarter, stronger and has more recourses. Rose hated this fact about life. You can never get on top, you can never be completely prepared. You never know what will happen later on.
It's all a mess of different actions you take; there's always a what if that you need to worry about.
Currently rose was contemplating what would have happened if she hadn't forcefully left her dads place, what if she had done everything she was told to do? She wasn't sure where she would be but she was sure that she wouldn't have to hear Dimitri sitting next to her shifting and trashing from pain.

It had been three days, Rose was sure of that because the first rule of surviving when kidnapped was to know the time and have a routine, to keep yourself busy and have something to look forward to every day, if you don't do this than you'll lose motivation and fighting to survive will become harder as you become more depressed with time.
The first day had been her and Dimitri tried down to a chair, they weren't being interrogated meaning the kidnappers didn't want information, they weren't being hurt or killed being the kidnappers wanted them alive. They just sat there, without reason or action.
The second day, rose and Dimitri had been beaten a little while they were still tried down, still no words were spoken to them but afterwards they were moved into a holding cell.
Two guards were stationed outside the cell; a tall guy and a short one. All their features were clocked by a giant dark green scarf all of them seemed to wear.

"Dimi"

"Hmm?"

One of the guards outside had went somewhere and the other seemed sleepy and unfocused giving rose the first true opportunity to talk to Dimitri.
"Are you okay?" She whispered

"I-fine" He said starting to become more alert. "What about you? What's going on? Do you know-"

"Calm down, are you seriously hurt? Any wounds that could lead to infections? And no, I don't know what they want or why we're here. I have theories" rose said thinking through their kidnappers behaviors.

"No, I think you got the worse of the random attack thing. What are your theories?" He asked scooting closer to her on the rock floor. The cell looked almost cave like but with some structure.
"Okay, it's obvious they want us alive and they don't seem to want to harm you. They most likely picked you up just because you were with me... sorry by the way. This is basically all my fault. They probably want me to get to baba" she said, trying to think of a way out.

"You seem like you have a plan" Dimitri said with a sad smile "it's sad how much you have to deal with at such a young age, don't worry about me. I'm the one that promised to take care of you but failed"

Rose returned his smile "well, I do have ideas"

"Look-" she turned her voice down as much a possible, making sure the guy wouldn't notice " I don't think they want you, if you offer them money (my dad can pay you later) and say that you don't care for me at all and we have a falling out because I dragged you into this than you can get out. The guard that isn't here likes his money, looking at the way he dresses under that scarf"

"And what about-"

"You can't worry about me,you need to get out. You don't need to get more involved than you already are. If you do anything it'll put you on peoples lists."  Rose explained thinking of a way to turn her idea into a plan.

"Are you insane? Leave you alone in this? Rose don't think-" Dimitri began but was cut of by rose kissing him. She kissed him so suddenly that he completely lost his balance and understanding of his surroundings, he was sitting on the floor with his body leaned against the wall but her suddenly movement caused him to become awkward pushing his body off to the floor with a loud thud.

Dimitri couldn't think, he couldn't even remember he was in a cell; all he could think of were the soft lips touching his, drawing him in—
"Ewww! Disgusting! You two off each other now, if I see that again I'll personally make sure your lips are not well enough to kill!"

So the tall guard had come back? Rose had kissed him only so he didn't give any information away.

Rose and Dimitri separated and went back to being quiet but Dimitri could feel a strange new ache in his chest that wasn't there before.
