[Lanys is running as fast as she can. She is running through a corn field, and she stops for a second to take a breather. She looks around and sees the farm house, she runs there and she rapidly opens the front door and screams]
Lanys: (screaming) Karl! Karl!
[Lanys looks around the living room and she hears Karl's response]
Karl: What?
[Karl appears through the kitchen and he has a Pepsi can in his hand]
Karl: What's with all the screaming I almost spilled my Pepsi.
[Lanys gets close to Karl and looks firmly at him]
Lanys: Karl, did you meet someone yesterday?
Karl: Yes.
Lanys: (sighs) oh...thank God.
Karl: Of course, I did. I met you, you forgot?
[Lanys opens her eyes widely]
Lanys: (softly) Oh no. You didn't meet anyone else in the market?
Karl: In the market? I didn't go to the market yesterday.
Lanys: (curious) you didn't?
Karl: No. I was going to, but on my way there I saw you fainted in the field.
[Lanys looks to the side and takes a deep breath]
Karl: What's wrong?
Lanys: Nothing.
Karl: Oh, right. How was your first day of school?
[Lanys looks furiously at Karl and responds]
Lanys: I don't like school, I know everything they are giving.
Karl: (sarcastically) Sure you do.
Lanys: I do.
Karl: That's what everyone says, but school is important. Look at me I'm in High School and I'm a Senior, it is so important because I need to pass my College boards and enter a good college.
Lanys: Don't worry about that, you'll be fine.
Karl: I hope so.
Lanys: I know so.
Karl: And why the urgency of knowing if I met someone yesterday?
Lanys: Nothing, forget about it.
[Lanys takes a look outside]
Lanys: Do you have a bike?
Karl: Yes...why?
[Lanys smiles]
30 MINUTES LATER
[Lanys is riding a bicycle and she stops at a rustic market. Lanys lays the bicycle near the sidewalk and she stops in front of the market]
Lanys: (softly) I hope this is the market my mom works in.
[Lanys takes a deep breath and enters the building. When she enters she sees an old lady in the counter and a teenager with black hair organizing some groceries in an empty aisle. Lanys looks at the teenager from a far]
Lanys: (softly) mom...
[Lanys goes slowly to her direction and she stops near the teenager]
