ACT ONE — City of Gold Scene One
It was a quiet, tranquil day for the kingdom of the north, Omelas. Despite the harsh winter hitting them and despite the blizzard that seemed to disrupt just a sliver of peace, it was normal for the Omelas residents. Outside the large palace, bits and pieces of snow fell from atop the sky, covering the only sunshine they've had for a long time. Inside said palace sat Park Jimin, the crown prince and the heir of the northern kingdom. His servant, Choi Youngjae, accommodated the young prince, in case he was in need of anything.
Jimin sighed, dismissing Youngjae of his duty for the day. For now, he needed some time to himself. The waterfall was calling his name currently, and he just absolutely needed to head there. So, he did. The prince hurried to leave the palace, slipping on thick clothes for the freezing winter and rode a horse all the way down to the line that separated everything.
Once he arrived, he tied his white, snow-like horse to a tree and left it there, straying away from it to head towards his safe space. Soon, the image of the waterfall became larger as he neared, seeing it in all of its glory. Huge clouds of water vapour ushered out from the pond, almost covering the entrance of the secret little utopia. Jimin took a few steps towards the pond. Only a few feet separated them as he admired the waterfall, looking upon it with sad eyes. He wished he could enter that forbidden haven- he wished he could forget about all of his responsibilities and enter. Unfortunately, he couldn't do that.
The northern kingdom of Omelas would experience its doom if he abandoned his duty as the prince.

The palace was quiet today. Just like it had been every day. (Y/n) didn't like how still the world had become around her. She missed how it was always so bright and full of life. She missed how the children would laugh and play. She missed seeing the beautiful flowers that resembled the most exquisite galaxies. The flowers that adorned the once magnificent southern kingdom. Her Kingdom.
(Y/n) was seated in the throne room of the palace, across from her sat the King, her father. He was droning on and on about an upcoming battle between her Kingdom and the Northern kingdom. (Y/n) had never liked the idea of war. She was never afraid of fighting as she has been trained for years on end, her fighting ability even exceeding the average soldier. She just liked the peace and she had been trying her best to keep the two Kingdoms from having a falling out. Unfortunately, her best had not been good enough, hence the ongoing war between her Kingdom and the Kingdom of Omelas.
She tried her best to listen to what her father was saying but the words seem to go in from one ear and out the next. Her mind was racing with many thoughts, all of them included only one place. A secret paradise hidden behind the waterfall at the border which separates her Kingdom from the next.
(Y/n) wanted so desperately to run, to get away from this palace and all the responsibilities she held as the princess. She wanted to escape to the oasis behind the waterfall. She wanted to go to the one place where things could be somewhat normal again. But she couldn't, instead, she had to sit there in a dull meeting that, once carried out, would only end in despair.
(Y/n) quickly stood up from her seat, the wood screeching against the marble floors disrupting the meeting that was once peaceful. She excused herself from the meeting, ignoring the protests from her father to sit down and stay. She soon found herself preparing her black horse for the long, yet short journey up North to the imaginary border.
(Y/n) began coming to the waterfall just shortly after the war started. She had always heard stories from her mother of a place where humans could exist in harmony with each other regardless of their beliefs and which Kingdom they belonged to. (Y/n) had always wanted to go there to be free of the duties placed upon her since birth. Unfortunately, she could not abandon the Kingdom she has always sworn to protect.
(Y/n)'s horse picked up its speed once she began to hear the pitter patter of the heavy water against the rocks that laid at the bottom of the stream. (Y/n)'s heart skipped a beat when the scenery around her became awfully familiar. As she began to travel further down the path she could faintly make out the waterfall in all its glory. She could also make out the outlines of something completely and utterly unfamiliar. A man with black hair sitting on the rock near the waterfall admiring it.
(Y/n) was shocked to say the least, never in her many years of coming here would she imagine to see another person. This was her spot. At least it used to be. The presence of another person was definitely new and unwelcomed to her. She felt as if her secret forbidden paradise was no longer hers.
(Y/n) wanted to leave and get away before he spotted her, after all, no one should see the princess neglecting her duties. She was about to get her horse to turn around and exit through the path quickly. Unfortunately, fate had other plans for her as the boy turned his head in her direction making his brown eyes meet her own (E/C) orbs.
(Y/n)'s body was restricted of movement as she and the nameless boy continued to stare at each other. She could easily see the shock laced onto his face, it seemed he was just as surprised as she was, if not more. (Y/n) couldn't stop herself as the next few words tumbled out of her mouth.
"How did you find this place?" (Y/n) blurted out, unsure of what to say to the stranger. But it was a rather stupid question, if she had to be honest, because—
"Everyone knows about this place, miss. They just... choose to not acknowledge it," he spoke, his pitch black hair blowing in the wind as he turned his head back to admire the waterfall. Jimin swore he saw that girl somewhere before, but he wasn't sure. Though, he knew she wasn't from the city he lived in, Gyeongju. Her features- her hair, everything about her.
She seemed foreign.
