ACT ONE — City of Gold

Scene Four

"Amaryllis? You're planning to capture the southern kingdom's most valuable warrior without even knowing who he is." Jimin sucked in a sharp breath, feeling a nervous and suffocating tension rise in the atmosphere that surrounded the room, including him. Capturing someone was far too dangerous enough, but Amaryllis? Even laying a single finger on him would mean you'd be put to the guillotine. "And how are you planning to do that? We have absolutely no info-" He was cut off by a familiar, deep-sounding and trembling to the tough voice that boomed throughout the small meeting room, "We have someone, son."

A cheeky, mischievous grin spread across his father's face. That either meant he was up to something, or- well- he was up to something. "I trust him; you should, too. I'm sure they'll bring the little warrior back alive. If not..." His sentence trailed off into an eerie, deep silence that filled the room with goosebumps and chills.

"He won't like what will come to him."

(Y/n) stood in front of her father, her eyes meeting the menacing glare he had laced across his features that could easily pierce daggers if she wasn't so careful. She trembled in anticipation of the punishment yet to come, for she knew her father would not take pity on her.

"I'm glad to see you back my child." Her father's voice had always been something terrifying to (Y/n), his voice had always been so serious and cold; colder than winter's touch that seemed to be approaching them.

"I'm disappointed in you. You decided to get up and leave during an important meeting, you embarrassed me."

"I'm sorry father, I tried my very best to stay but I just kept thinking of her." As (Y/n) spoke her father toned down the coldness in his gaze and instead replaced it with something warmer; it almost seemed empathetic.

"I know it's hard my dear but you must understand that these meetings are important for the future of this Kingdom. These meetings are helping us keep your mother's legacy alive!"

"Her legacy isn't represented in any of those meetings! Her legacy was keeping peace and kindness and spreading it among the two Kingdoms! All your stupid meetings are about war, death and no peace! Please don't taint her image like this."

Any empathy that (Y/n) once saw in her fathers stare was completely gone, instead he had reverted back to the original cold gaze that (Y/n) saw when she first entered the large room.

(Y/n)'s father stepped off of the large magnificent metal throne that he'd once been sitting in. He took slow careful steps towards the spot where (Y/n) stood frozen. When he reached her, he puffed out his chest and gave a look so menacing even the bravest of souls would have run away as if they were a cowardly chicken with no head.

"HOW DARE YOU TELL ME I AM TAINTING HER IMAGE! YOU KNOW NOTHING YOU STUPID CHILD! DON'T YOU DARE TALK BACK TO ME EVER AGAIN!"

(Y/n) could hardly raise her head to look at her father when he ways speaking. His voice had boomed and echoed so loudly that (Y/n) was positive that the citizens of the Northern Kingdom could even hear him.

As she finally gained the courage to look back up at him, her father had raised his hand only to bring it back down upon the right side of (Y/n)'s face. He'd hit her so hard she tumbled back slightly and landed on the white marble floors of the throne room.

"If you dare to disrespect or embarrass me ever again the punishment I give you won't be as light as this one. You may leave now."

(Y/n) quickly pushed herself up off of the cold floors and then bowed towards her father.

"I understand father, this won't happen again. Thank you for being generous in your punishment today."

The King didn't even acknowledge that his daughter said anything and instead walked back to his throne taking the seat that is rightfully his. (Y/n) took this time as her opportunity to leave and make her way back to Taehyung who was surely waiting at the training area where he told her he'd be.
