Epilogue

Zane smiled, kneeling down at the front of Nana's gravestone. Hard to believe the love of his life was buried under all that dirt.

 "Hey Nana, you missed a lot. Who knew so much could happen in a year... Like... Aaron and Aphmau's child was born, a baby girl. Alina Nana Lycan. Yeah, they named her in honour of you.

I still haven't moved on. I don't believe I ever will. But get this... Katelyn and Travis are now engaged. That's right, bet you didn't see that happening. Aph and Aaron tied the knot five months ago

Your death hit us real hard, hun. Everyone was pretty out of it for the next few months. I bonded with your siblings, Nico, Rokudo and Hachiko. They're real nice people. You were lucky to have such good people as your siblings.

We worked together to open a self harm awareness page on Facebook, we already have 100,000 people following the page, pretty awesome right?

I really miss you. If I didn't leave you alone a year ago... Maybe you'd still be here.

I stopped wearing my mask like you wanted. I wish I wore it less when you were alive, but at least I'm not wearing it now, right? 

I still live in the house. It's weird living alone, but I'm getting used to it. It's not the same without the sweet scent of your baking throughout the house though. 

How's heaven treating you? I bet you're the most beautiful angel in there, the others must be jealous, huh?

Anyway, it's almost time for me to go."

Aphmau, as if on cue, came up behind her best friend, "Zane? You ready to go?"

He placed the bouquet of flowers he was holding again the gravestone before standing up, "Yeah, let's go"

Aphmau nodded and walked off, while Zane trailed behind.

He turned his head slightly and muttered one final thing. 

"I'll see you soon"
