Christmas - a day where families and friends get together and spend quality time with one other. They eat hot meals, watch movies, sing songs, bake... the list goes on and on. It's just a day to be happy and celebrate the friendships you have. Naturally, this is what the Avengers were doing, because they're one big... happy... family... right?
"Oh, would you just unwrap the goddamn thing already?! I feel like I'm living in slow motion!"
"Would you shut your mouth? This is my present and I can unwrap it as slow as I gOdDaMn please!"
Natasha sighed. "Children! Would you please do everyone a favor and shut up?! Both of you?!"
Tony rolled his eyes. "Whatever. Molasses over her can finish unwrapping his brand new retainer case while I find out what that giant present over there is." Sticking his tongue out playfully to Sam, he got up from his spot on the couch and made his way over to a giant present standing by the fireplace.
It was about three feet tall, and it was very wide; like a giant 3D rectangle. Tony set his wine glass down on the hearth, and he looked over the large gift for a name.
"Who's it for?" Bruce asked from the kitchen, where he was helping Wanda bake cookies.
"No idea, there's no name on it."
Thor hopped up from his place on the couch where everyone had previously thought he'd been sleeping. "Well," he yawned ,"It's obviously for me. I mean, what better way to commemorate one of the greatest god's to ever live than with this large offering?" He said as he stumbled his way over to it.
Clint suddenly appeared behind Thor, putting a hand on his shoulder, causing Thor to yelp and shake cookie crumbs out of his beard. Clint chuckled. "Thor, buddy. This present is obviously for me. It's probably the new training equipment I've been asking Nat for since last year, right?" He glanced over at Natasha, who didn't look up from the book she was reading.
"Nope. Still not gonna buy it. Not after Budapest." She said as Clint rolled his eyes and slumped down on the floor by her feet.
Wanda poked out her head from behind the counter. "What happened in Budapest?"
Nat and Clint just looked at each other and smiled. "Nothing." They said in unison.
Pepper turned her attention back to Tony, who was still standing by the box. "Hey boy genius, why don't you turn the box over and see if there's a tag there?"
Tony shrugged, getting down on his knees to flip it, but he struggled.
"What's wrong? Is it heavy?" Bruce asked, wiping cookie dough from his sweater.
"No, no. Just- Thor, come help me, will ya?"
"Mm... when I'm done with my beer..."
Tony raised a brow. "What, afraid you can't lift it? Aren't you supposed to be the 'Strongest Avenger?'"
Thor scoffed. "Of course I can lift it! Watch and learn, tin man." He set his beer down on the hearth next to Tony's now empty wine glass and gripped the edge of the box. With one mighty flip the box was on its other side, and a name tag was clear now.
Everyone crowded around the present to see who it belonged to, and everyone rolled their eyes when they saw the name written down.
Tony wore a triumphant smile as he fished his keys out of his pocket and began to cut open the box.
"See? I told you it was for me! Why would it not be for me? It only makes sense that the billionaire gets the biggest present right? No hard fee-"
"MERRY CHRISTMAS MR. STARK SIR !!!!"
"aaAHHHH"
Tony yelled as he fell backward into the floor. Breathing heavily, he looked up to see Peter standing inside the box wearing an IronMan onesie and holding out a coupon to the Shawarma place down the street. He furrowed his brows.
"Peter?? What the heck were you doing in there??" He asked, frantically running his shaky hands through his hair.
"I was your present, Mr. Stark! Did you like it? Oh! I also got you this coupon to that Shawarma place you said you liked! I know this present is kinda lame and everything but I'm kind of broke and I'm not a billionaire like you so this coupon idea is kinda stupid now that I - "
Peter was surprised to feel Tony's arms wrapped around him in a hug. He hugged him back, a wide smile spreading across his face.
"Merry Christmas kid."
"Merry Christmas Mr. Stark!"
They stayed there for a moment longer, until they felt another pair of arms.
"Group hug!" Clint said.
Thor hugged them too, and even Bruce. Pretty soon, all of the Avengers were having one big group hug and laughing about how awkward it was. Peter smiled to himself.
This was definitely a very merry Christmas.
He couldn't wait for next year.
...
"Mr. Stark, you couldn't lift me? Am I fat?"
....
A/N: wow that was horrible. I haven't written anything in months so I guess I'm a little *VERY* rusty... but anyway, this was rushed and I didn't really know what I was doing so yea... also it's kinda short sorry :/
