Peter had been extremely excited when Tony asked him to come hang out with him for the day. He had even squealed when Tony promised to let him into his lab. He couldn't wait to spend his Saturday with THE Tony Stark. In the AVENGERS TOWER.

Technically, Peter had been dubbed an Avenger by Tony on the "flying donut", but after that whole event and everything had gone back to normal *cough cough Russo brothers take some ADVICE cough cough*, he was never acknowledged as an actual member of the team.

He didn't say anything about it, but that isn't to say that he wasn't disappointed.

Tony had never actually stated what they would be doing, but Peter assumed it would be something simple like watching a movie or eating ice cream. He was actually kind of nervous.

What do the Avengers do when they're not saving the world?

As Peter made his way in the building, he showed his ALPHA level 10 identification card to the security guard and boarded the elevator. He jumped when he heard a voice.

"Good morning, Peter. Mr. Stark informed me that you would be arriving. He is currently in his lab. Would you like me to take you there?" F.R.I.D.A.Y asked.

"O-oh! Hey, F.R.I.D.A.Y! Uh- yeah, sure! If it's not too much trouble!" Peter added with a smile. He mentally facepalmed himself for saying that.

'Of course if isn't too much trouble for her, you doofus. She's a robot... And she was built by MR. STARK HIMSELF.' He thought. 'You're so smart, Peter Parker.'

"Not at all, Peter. Heading to floor 45. I will inform Mr. Stark of your arrival."

Peter stood awkwardly in the silence. He wished there was some elevator music, even if it was bad. Eventually, a soft chime could be heard as the doors opened slightly afterward to reveal a white, cluttered workspace with papers and coffee mugs everywhere that Peter could only assume belonged to Tony.

"Mr. Stark! I'm here!"

Peter heard a crashing sound and a muffled "Shit, that hurt." Tony popped up from the side.

"Hey kiddo! You're finally here!"

Peter was ecstatic that Tony went from calling him 'kid' to 'kiddo'... That is, until he got a good look at him.

Tony had dark circles underneath his drooping eyes. His face was dirty and his clothes smelled unwashed and appeared grimy. There were countless coffee stains all over him, and his breath reeked of both caffeine and alcohol.

"Woah. Mr. Stark, are you OK?" Peter asked.

"What? Yeah! Yeah, I'm fine! But enough about little ol' me, I got something cool to show ya!" Tony waddled his way over to an intricate and expensive-looking machine.

"Woahhhh... That looks so cool! Uh- what is it- exactly?" Peter scratched his head in confusion as he circled the machine. His face held an expression of pure amazement and curiosity.

Tony walked up to it and pat it.

"Oh, this? Nothing much, just a time machine is all..." Tony smirked as he sipped from his empty coffee mug. Peter's eyes almost popped out of his head.

" A time machine? Really? That's awesome!" He exclaimed as he began to bounce up and down on his toes. "Does it work?"

Tony scoffed. "Of course it works. I built it."

Tony motioned for Peter to follow him and proceed to walk into a room with protective glass walls. It looked like a control room, as it was filled with buttons and levers and looked out to the room in which the time machine was sitting in.

"Watch this, kid. You're gonna love it."

Tony began pushing buttons and typing in commands on the computer. He smirked as he pushed a lever up.

"Wait 'till Starnge's magical ass sees this."

He pushed the lever to full power, and the machine came on. A bright light and a snapping sound could be heard, and when Peter uncovered his eyes, he saw that Tony's empty mug, which had previously been sitting on top of the machine, was now relocated to Tony's desk... And it was full of freshly-poured coffee.

"Holy shit..." Peter muttered.

"Language." Tony muttered. He walked over to the mug and took a sip, all the while remaining nonchalant.

"Ah. That's good coffee." He put the mug down, crossed his arms, and leaned against the table, staring Peyer down as if trying to read his mind. Peter just stood there, motuh open, eyes darting back and forth between the mug and the machine.

"Woah." He finally breathed out.

"Yeah. I know. I'm awesome." Tony said as he made his way back to the control panel. "Wanna see it again?"

Peter nodded vigorously while Tony chuckled.

"Alrighty then."

He began typing in more commands, and the machine started lighting up. Tony stepped back, ready to watch a wine glass come his way now, but instead he saw red.

The light we're flashing red, and an alarm sound was filling up the room. Peter and Tony both put their hands on their ears and squeezed their eyes shut, crouching on the ground.

"Warning. Power overload. Please take cover." F.R.I.D.A.Y. repeated.

Peter and Tony began to stumble their way towards the elevator door. The doors opened and Tony stepped inside. He turned around and reached out a hand for Peter, who had tripped. He began scrambling to get up when F.R.I.D.A.Y. began counting down.

"Warning. Power overload. Excessive burst of power in 3...2...1..."

"Peter!" Tony screamed. The last thing he saw before the elevator doors closed was a bright light, and Peter reaching out for him.
