Chapter 2

Shuichi's POV

I finished my math work and was heading to social studies when I heard Rantaro call out to me. I turned and saw him walking up to me while zipping up his bag, "So are you heading to third period early?" I nodded and tossed my bag around my arm. "Is that so?" He said but then paused think before speaking again. "Hey how about we head down together? I'd be nice if I got to know you more." He said putting his bag down on the empty desk that was next to him. "Ok well let's get going now, the bell will ring soon." We started walking down the hall together, Rantaro asked me a few things about my Ultimate talent and he told me a few things about him. But even so, he was still a mysterious guy to me. While we were talking we noticed someone walking by it was Maki. She didn't really seem like the friendly type, but we still asked her if she wanted to walk with us. To our surprise she said yes and began walking with us but she didn't say much.

As we were walking we heard Kaito call out to us. I turned to see a group of familiar faces including Kaede's. The sight of her made my cheeks warm, she walked up to me and waved. "Hey Shuichi." Kaede said in a cheerful tone. I could hear Miu in the background saying something and laughing while pointing us but I wasn't paying attention to her. I didn't understand why but I felt a nice warm feeling around Kaede, and I enjoyed the feeling she made me feel.
We stared into each other's eyes, not realizing that their were people staring at us. "Look at those two love birds!" Miu said with a hearty laugh. We quickly turned our heads away from each other, and tried to ignore what Miu had just said, but it was hard to forget. "Hey so since we're all here how about we head to third period class together as a group?" Kaito suggested. We all agreed and headed down to our class.

Time skip ~

After third period we all headed straight down to lunch, we all grabbed a lunch and sat down at the table. I sat in between Kaito and Kaede, Everyone was having their own conversations, everyone except for Kaede and I. She turned to me and smiled making me blush a little, "T..this is kinda awkward, isn't it?" "Y-yeah.." She said taking her eyes off me for a moment. "S-so.. I never got to ask you this but.. I was wondering if you were free on Saturday? I-I mean i'm not asking you out on a d-date or anything, if that's what you're thinking! I..I just wanted to get to know you more so I thought we should go somewhere fun." Kaede smiled and giggled at me, "You get so nervous Shuichi, It's actually kinda cute." I could feel my face getting warmer, "Yes, I'm free on Saturday, I'd like to go somewhere and hangout with you." She said but then Kaito interrupted our conversation, "So you two are going somewhere Saturday? Hey, you know what? How about we all go to the arcade next Saturday?" It wasn't a bad idea and we all would probably have a good time together as a group.

"No way! It's one thing sitting at lunch together, but it's another thing going out somewhere with a bunch of degenerate males!" Tenko said seeming very angry. "Nyeh.. it sounds like a pain.. But I guess it wouldn't hurt to go. I could use my magic to help me win a lot of games." Himiko said lazily. "W-wha? Your going Himiko!? *Sigh* I guess I'll have to go, but I'm only going so I can protect you from the degenerate males!" Tenko said I a more defensive tone. "Ok so is anyone else coming?" Kaito asked. "Yeah I'll come, it sounds like it'll be fun." Rantaro said. "Well I'm sure it won't be boring, hm.. I guess I'll go to then!" Kokichi said with a childish grin on his face. Everyone else agreed to come and with that we all continued eating and talking about Saturday.

Time skip ~ (Kaede's POV)

It was after school, I was waiting for my mother to get off work so she could pick me up and take me home. A few minutes passed and she finally called me "Hello? Kaede?"
"Hey mom, so are you off work yet?"
"No sorry sweety, that's why I called. I tried to call you earlier to tell you I won't be coming home until around six o'clock but your phone must've been off."
