Days bled into year, and she's standing in the very same spot on her balcony just as an year before. The only difference is his absence. After home chores, she's tired but she is insomniac, most nights she can't sleep. Her thoughts speaks so loud in her mind that it seems impossible to her to sleep in such state.
The wind is cold again, and soon little snow flakes fell, ever so lightly making her shiver. She turned to leave for her room, but a slight movement in her peripheral view caught her attention.
Her first thoughts were, maybe he's there hiding. "For they don't hide in the dark anymore, but in the plain sight", the phrase crossed her mind. Perhaps she has never noticed but he was there all long. Maybe she can find answers to all her unsaid questions.
And without hesitating she rushed down the stairs and out in the backyard and through the backdoor into the woods. Her consciousness screamed at her to run back to her room and hide. But she wasn't going to let it go this time. She want answers, she want peace of mind.
She ran into the woods, trying to find the same spot where she saw movement. But she couldn't. She stop running, and observed her surroundings, but nothing seemed familiar. She turned around only to find massive thick trees beyond which nothing could be seen. Light fog made her vision hazy. Everything was so still. And she heard a branch creak under someone's weight. Maybe she had found him. She turned and called "Where are you?" And she heard a low animalistic growl, which scared her nonetheless she remained composed. And asked again "Where are you? Come into the sight?" And the growl resonated again, but this time it sounded nearer than before. Her mind rushed for the possibilities. What could it be? How she is going to save herself? She's in danger! And she made a run for her dear life. She ran as fast as her legs could carry, away from danger. The growl now sounded like many growls, maybe there isn't just one, there are many. She panicked, anxiety kicking in, but she knew better than to let it get the best of her.
And growls sounded nearer and nearer every passing second, so this means she's being chased. She ran and ran, she can't properly breath, and felt light headed. Her blood ran cold, when she saw a gigantic hairy creature running beside her, the trees in between were the only obstacle between them.
She looked around her, a pack of wolves followed her. No this can't be real, wolves don't exist in this woods, as far as she remember. She hasn't ever seen one, though she has been living here since her birth. No! NO NO NO NO!! this can't be real. She can never out run a pack of hungry wolves. She can never. And the wood, seemed to be never ending. Trees rushing past by, but never seeming to end.
Is this her end?! Where no one would ever know where she's lost and her family would never look for her in the forest, knowing no one was allowed to go into the woods. They will never know, no one will ever know.
And now she regretted for ever creating distance between her and her family. For ever shutting her siblings out. And for the moments, she never enjoyed. For every joke, she didn't laugh upon. For every chances she missed of being happy.
And she loose every hope of running away from vicious wolves. And she stood in the woods. And accepted her fate. Her legs gave out, and she slumped to the grassy ground. No one can stop this, she can't out run these wolves, maybe if she will, she has nothing in her life to return to. And maybe just for once she should give her family happiness they deserve, which because of her they never get to experience. Maybe it's all the part of the plan. Maybe God has planned happiness for all of them in this way. Her family will be devastated because of her disappearance but they will eventually heal and forget her,  will move on and be happy in their lives. And she will be free from every misery.
The wolves approached her in slow predatory stance. And she knew her time was up, even now her second thoughts can not help her run from the fate she had chosen for herself, and now it's sealed for her.
And she never feared her fate, and she will not this time too.
