Stefan had texted me to go to the school and pack up Alaric's things from the classroom storage closest--like the arsenal that he always kept on hand--preferably before the school cleaned it out themselves and realized that the history teacher was a vampire slayer.

So, at the school, in Ric's classroom, I was pulling things out of his closest, walking over to the desk and dropping the weapons into the duffel bag on top of the desk, turning around and walking toward the closet again, repeating the process, walking toward the closet.

I stopped packing when I heard a vampire rush past the doorway, turning toward it, looking out into the hall. I heard a vampire rush behind me, rushing to turn around, but I didn't see who it was.

I looked around the empty classroom.

It was dead quiet now.

I heard a vampire rushing behind me, rushing to grab a crossbow from the bag on the desk, turning around, shooting.

The arrow shot into the hall, landing in a locker.

I walked into the hall, pulling the arrow out of the locker, looking at the arrow head.

It had blood on it, so, obviously, it had shot through someone.

I heard a vampire rushing behind me down the hall.

I turned around, but saw no one.

I smiled half-heartedly, looking around. "I don't know who you are, and frankly, I don't care. You should just know who you're dealing with."

I turned slowly, looking into Ric's classroom directly in front of me.

I sensed someone behind me, rushing to turn around, stabbing the arrow into the vampire's neck.

And was completely shocked to see Alaric.

Alaric looked at me coldly with hate, grabbing my throat tightly. "You should just know who you're dealing with."

I punched Alaric's head to the side, making him let go, breaking the arrow off in his neck, backing away, throwing the broken arrow to the floor. Alaric pulled the arrow out of his neck, kicking me into his classroom behind me.

He was way too strong for one vampire to handle.

I put my hand on the desk to help me stand.

Alaric rushed into the classroom, taking a knife out of the duffel bag, stabbing it through my hand and into the desk to keep me kneeling on the floor, making me scream. "Seem familiar to you?"

I looked at him. "So you're a master of torture and mind games now. Congratulations."

"I only learned from the best," Alaric told me.

I gave him a sarcastic look, tilting my head, looking at the knife in my hand as it tried to heal excrutiatingly. My other hand rushed to try to pull it out.

Alaric rushed to snap my neck before I could.

When I woke up, I was sitting in a desk, a vervain cloth covering my mouth, making me breath it in, my skin around my mouth and lips searing, making it feel like I was inhaling battery acid. Two pencils stuck through either of my hands into the desk, keeping me there.

I looked to the side.

Caroline was there, looking just like me, but she was handling the pain worse than I was.

I looked in front of us.

Alaric was calling someone.

"Whoever this is, it's not funny," Elena answered.
