When I woke up, I had my wrists chained to either side of my headboard on my bed. "What the hell?"

I sat up, pulling at the chains, but I couldn't break free.

I sat back with a sigh. "Low blow, Klaus, low blow, not your greatest work. Didn't even know you were back . . ."

I trailed off because I saw vervain, no one holding it, like it was floating. I leaned back on my bed in confusion, trying to get away. It brushed across my cheek, causing my skin to burn and sizzle.

It made me scream.

The wolfsbane pulled away, a water bottle being picked up, the vervain being put inside and shook.

Then I felt a hand on my chin, pouring the vervain in my mouth.

I muffled a scream, spitting it back out.

There was only one werewolf that I had done that to before Damon killed him.

Mason Lockwood.

I was walking in the street when I saw Lexi, my eyes widening as I stopped. "Lexi."

"Yeah, can we skip past the part where we try to figure out how I'm here or how you can see me?" Lexi asked. "'Cause I have no idea. Stefan's off the rails. Big time. And I need to help you before you get to the same point he's at now."

"Well, he made it to this point a lot faster than me, so I think that I don't really need your help, and I think that I don't really want it," I told her, starting to walk away.

Lexi grabbed my arm. "Well, I guess that's too bad."

Before I could move, she snapped my neck.

I woke up next to Stefan, both of us chained to chairs, Stefan still asleep and Elena looking at us.

"Klaus really did a number on them, huh?" Lexi asked.

"He compelled Stefan to turn off his humanity," Elena answered. "Kaylin . . .not so much."

"Like I said," I told them, tilting my head. "In complete control of who I wanna be."

"Then it'll be easy for me to bring you back to your blood-bag drinking neutral, fun-loving yet bad ass self," Lexi told me. She looked at my brother. "Stefan? Well, we're just going to have to convince him to turn it back on." She looked at Elena. "I have to warn you, it's not going to be pretty for either of them."

"I can handle it," Elena said.

Lexi kicked Stefan. "Wake up, sleepyhead." Stefan woke up. "How you guys feeling?"

Stefan looked at the chairs and chains. "What is this? Let me out of here!"

"Shh. Inside voices, please. I'm trying to get inside of your heads."

"Elena. Get rid of her, please."

"No," Elena said.

"First step, drying them out," Lydia told her. "Starve away the bloodlust. Strip away the temptation."

I chuckled, leaning my head back on the chair. "This isn't gonna work, Lexi. You can't do this."

"You heard the not pretty part?" Lexi asked Elena.

"I heard you," Elena answered.

Lexi leaned in front of us, looking at either of us.

I could already feel like my body was screaming with fire. "What are you doing?"
