Stefan and I heard Elena and Damon arguing about killing Elijah, Rebekah, Kol, Finn and Klaus.

They were all linked. If one died, they all did.

"Don't do anything to screw this up, Elena," Damon told her.

"Why are you doing this?" Elena asked.

"He's right, you know," Stefan said. "Klaus has to die. They all do."

"See?" Damon asked. "It's democracy in action."

Elena pushed past Damon, spilling his drink before she left.

I sighed.

I walked into the library to see Stefan and Damon, holding three glasses of blood. "Join me for a little drink?"

"Absolutely," Damon said, taking his and taking a drink.

"Should wait until Klaus is dead," Stefan told us.

"Why are you so extra broody?" I asked. "Did you see the way we stood up to Elena? I like both of you on my team. Must have driven her nuts."

"You both still think she's gonna screw this up, don't you?" Stefan asked.

"I think somebody needs to talk to her," Damon answered. "She's not gonna listen to anything I say."

"Is it because of your little sleepover?" I asked.

He slept with Rebekah.

"It's not my fault she decided to get jealous," Damon said.

"Well, given who you chose to sleep with, I would say it's 100 percent your fault," Stefan told him.

"Whatever," Damon said. "Did you a favor. Now you can come in and sweep her off her feet."

"Nah," Stefan said. "She's better off without me. Sure as hell better off without you."

"Fine," I said. "Neither one of you get her."

Damon looked at me. "You know, Elena's not the only one that we have to be worried about, though, is she?"

"I'm not gonna screw up Esther's plan," I told them. "I know that I wouldn't be able to stop the Original Witch even if I wanted to. But don't expect me to help you."

"Why?" Stefan asked, a little judgey. "Because Klaus actually got to you again."

"I'm not talking about this with you," I told them.

I left a glass for Stefan, both Damon and I leaving.

Stefan looked at it for a moment, then turned away without touching it.

Elena was missing.

Stefan and Damon walked into the house behind me.

"We can't find her anywhere," Stefan told me.

Damon slowed to a stop when he saw Elijah sitting in a chair next to the fireplace. "What's going on?"

"Hello, Stefan, Damon," Elijah told them.

"He has Elena," I told them.

"Actually, she's with Rebekah," Elijah told us. "As you can imagine, my sister is just dying to tear her throat out. So . . .if you want to save Elena's life, I need you to help me stop my mother."

"I'm a little embarrassed to admit, but when it comes to killing thousand-year-old resurrected witches, I'm a little rusty," Damon said.

"Yes, unfortunately, even when killed, my mother doesn't seem to want to say dead. Not with the spirits of nature at her side."
