The next morning I was a mess.

No matter what I did I couldn't help but think about this strange book and whoever was writing to me. I quickly hurried to each class. It was the middle of History of magic when I remembered reading about Gellert Grindelwald. For the first time in ages, I felt intrigued to venture into the library. I ran my finger along the spines of the books looking for the right one, finally, I had a match:

A Guide To Dark Wand-less Magic.

Without a second glance I picked it up and ran to the desk, the librarian looked at me strangely but didn't question me.

As I walked I remembered that tomorrow the owls would be coming with our mail. That sparked a string of hope in me, maybe for once in my life something would go how I wanted it.

"hows it going?" Pansy asked coming up behind me.

"not too bad," I reply, distractedly. I continued walking to my dorm and wasn't even looking where I was going. Smack! I fell to the floor, my book flew out of my hands.

"I'm so sorry!" I quickly apologized without looking up, I glanced up to see none other than Hermione Granger.

"Oh, it's you." I said with disgust, "watch where you're going, mudblood." I hissed before snatching my book out of her hands and racing to my dorm.

"and then she apologized! before she realized it was me!" I told them. They stared at me before Ron spoke up "maybe it was just a show?"

"I don't think so," said Harry, "I think that she actually may be nice, but since Hermione's a muggleborn and she should hate muggleborns she instantly became mean again, no offense Hermione."

"None taken."

"But we have to tell Professor Dumbledore," I added.

"why?" Harry asked.

"Because the book she was reading was called, A Guide To Dark Wandless Magic."

Back in my dorm, I lay on my bed, I was glad that I got the bed near the window again. I pulled out the book and began to read.

I awoke to Pansy shaking me,

"Ugh, Pansy! what time is it?" I groaned.

"like 6:00 am and where were you yesterday? you missed transfiguration and care of magical creatures!"

"Umm... I was reading?"

"you know, I'm worried about you Est. you're so distant all the time and missing lessons? that's not like you. Whatever happened to the know it all Estrella? the one who gave that mudblood Gryffindor a run for her money?"

I looked at Pansy, silently debating on whether or not I should tell her, I mean I told Daph and she was fine with it, but would Pansy? no.

"Let's go to breakfast," I told her, completely avoiding her question.

I was eating my carrot sticks when suddenly the owls flew in, I almost whooped with joy as one landed next to me with a letter labeled

To Estrella

From Daphne.

                                                      Dear Estrella,

I'm so sorry that I haven't written back to any of your letters, I actually just got them! can you believe it?  my owl died on the flight and a rescue owl had to be sent to retrieve the letters. but anyway, how are you?  I am good but I miss you profusely we are in Romania, and the dragons here are so cool! I really wish you were here now, but anyway I met this girl and her name is Iris. She's from the African school of witchcraft and wizardry.

from: Daphne Greengrass.

I felt a spark of jealousy, what if Daphne replaced me with Iris?

I was about to write a reply when I heard someone say my name.

"Estrella, may I speak with you privately in my office?" I looked up to see Professor Dumbledore standing beside me...
