Seeing yellow

I ran. From the hallway with the writing in blood, from my friends, I ran as fast as I could and didn't stop until I came to the girl's lavatory where I sat and grabbed at my hair with my hands, pulling out a few long strands.
Then I pulled out a notebook and began to write.
The chamber of secrets (what's that?) has been opened (it's been opened, well.... yah no duh) enemies of the heir beware. (Who's the heir?)
I brought my quill from the page in haste when I heard a loud creaking sound behind me, spinning around I came face to face with two huge yellow eyes, I screamed a shrill cry before falling into blackness.

"I swear, professor, we just found her like this!" I could hear Lyra talking but for some reason, I couldn't get up.
"Just like her, to get all riled up, storm off and then get frozen." I heard my father mumble.
Hmph, he doesn't know what he's talking about. Wait, frozen!! How could I be frozen? It only targets mudbloods, or that's what my book said, but I do have like a quarter of muggle in me, right? Because my mom was pure but my father a half so that makes me a three quarter? Ok now I'm confused, but am I really frozen? Or is it me thinking I am?
I very slowly tried to move my leg, I felt a little twitch then my hands, another twitch,
But why can't I feel anything, like mentally?
I finally managed to sit up, scaring the life out of Lyra of course.
"Oh my god! I thought you were frozen!" She cried, hugging me. I patted her back,
"Thank you for worrying about me, Lyra." She looked at me confused, which I returned with a look that meant, I'll tell you later.
"Well thank you, madam Pomfrey. I am so grateful for your efforts in making me well again." My voice was as hard as stone and cold as ice, by now everyone there was staring at me weirdly.
"If I may, can you tell me what you saw?" I heard Dumbledores voice ask from behind me. I turned, my face impassive,
"I would like to get some rest, maybe another day?" He looked at me with what? A hint of sadness? I don't know, nor do I care.
God, what's wrong with you Estrella?

"God, what's wrong with you Estrella?" Lyra asked, once inside the common room.
"I don't know Lyra, but I have a theory, I think that when I looked in the eyes of the yellow thing, it froze something inside my head and now I can't feel anything, like watch this." I ran at full speed into the wall and crashed with a whack!
"Oh my god! Estrella! Your bleeding!" She yelled. I felt my head where I had hit the wall the hardest to find that there was indeed red liquid coming out of my head.
"So I am," I replied, "but see? I don't feel anything!" She looked at me worriedly.
"I think when you looked at, well whatever it is since you have like a quarter of muggle in you it froze that, so basically it froze your feelings..." I stared at her,
"What? No!" I cried, putting my head in my hands,
"Well, go tell Madam Pomfrey! She can give you the mandrake juice and then you can be better," "Well, come on Lyra, let's just think about the advantages of this." I let a devilish smirk fill my pale features.

"There is nothing to think about, E! you need help!" She cried, exasperated. I silenced her with a glare.

"No. Ly, I'm not going to get help, I don't want help."

"Well fine. I'll just go tell your father then, and he'll get you help." She turned on her heel, preparing to walk out the door.

"Snitch." I hissed, in a matter of seconds she was back around and pressing me against the wall, her eyes flashed red.

"No one. calls. me. a. snitch. understand?" Her words came out icy causing the first year watching us flinch, but I just laughed.

"Ha! you think that scares me?" I scoffed. A tired look replaced her glare.

"You know what Estrella? I'm done with this. When you're ready to think sensibly come find me." She released her grip on my neck and stalked out, I just stood there before stalking out as well.

I skipped dinner.
Making my way up to the Astronomy Tower, I sat down right on the edge, my feet swinging, and below them, I could see the forbidden forest, a looming black plantation, full of god only knows what. Closing my eyes I tried to remember my mother, but as much as I tried my mind was blank. The cold October air bit at my bare legs but I didn't even notice it,
If I jumped now, I wouldn't even feel it. That was slightly comforting, I would just be gone, no pain no suffering.
"Estrella? Lyra told me you got in a fight, and since you weren't at dinner, I came up here... wait, what are you doing?" I looked up to see Leo. Stepping away from the edge I sighed,
"Nothing, don't worry Leo."
"No, you know what? I am worried, I get worried when my sister is crying at dinner and the girl I like is sitting on the edge of the tallest tower."

"Wait... you like me?" I asked,

"Oh my god, did I say that out loud?" A blush tinted his tanned cheeks, and a warm feeling spread through my chest, what was that? what was I feeling? I thought I was done with feelings. A small smile spread across my face, and despite myself, I let it stay.

He tentatively put his arm over my shoulders, at first it was stiff but when he realized I wasn't going to turn him away he relaxed and we just sat there.
