Warning: Violence
After a few minutes of walking, Karlie comes to the realisation that she hasn't heard the shuffling of Taylor's feet behind her for a while, her suspicions are correct when she turns around and sees the blonde isn't there.
"Fuck," she mutters in frustration and worry, immediately breaking out into a run, going back into the park where she had stupidly left the girl. She had left a seventeen year old girl, who can't defend herself, all alone in the middle of a park in Colorado during the early hours of the morning.
Anything could've happened.
Panic starts to arise within her when she can't see Taylor where she left her. Then a hint of something metal, not that far to the right, catches her eye and she runs over to it. As she gets closer, she sees Taylor behind held down by what looked like two men who were beating her up on the muddy path.
Without hesitation, she pulls the men off and they direct their attention to her instead. Her fist pounds into the shorter mans face, sending him flying to the floor as she elbows the other one in the stomach, before delivering a roundhouse kick to his side - also sending him flying to the floor.
Soon after, the first man was up again and pulled his knife on her. With only Taylor's safety on her mind, she uses the adrenaline rush to pry the knife out of his sweaty hand and throw it to the side. Before the man can go after his weapon, she pushes him to the floor and straddles him, punching his face repeatedly until he was unconscious and there was blood gushing out of her knuckles. First she checks to see if he actually is unconscious like the other guy appeared to be, before getting up and using her blood stained hand to wipe the sweat off her forehead.
Karlie walks over to where Taylor is laying and sees that the girl is conscious. "How badly are you injured?" She asks, crouching down and carefully moving the strands of golden hair out of her blood-covered face.
"Um, not too bad, I think," she replies, wincing in pain a little as she moved her left eyebrow that seems to have a deep gash running diagonally through it. Blood poured out of it and streamed down her face, but other than that, the rest of her face seemed fine and, most importantly, nothing seemed broken.
"Okay, let's get out of here then."
Karlie stands up first and then helps Taylor up. Originally, she was going to allow the blonde to lean on her for support, but she figured it would be much easier to carry her - so that's what she did, much to Taylor's protesting.
"What did they want?" Karlie inquired, a firm grip under Taylors knees and around her shoulders as she carried her in the bridal position.
Taylor's blue eyes move from the road ahead and meet Karlie's worried ones. "I think they were just common thieves. They realised I didn't have any valuables on me and started beating me up."
"Fuck, I'm so sorry for leaving you to fend for yourself, Taylor. It was stupid and I never should've done it. I was just being petty and I got angry for no reason. Please forgive me."
Taylor smiled slightly at how cute Karlie is as she rambles on. Eventually she stops, indicating that she could speak now.
"Don't worry, I forgive you. If anything, you were the prince to my damsel in distress," she giggles. "I'm more concerned that you won't find me attractive anymore with all these cuts and bruises."
Karlie comes to an abrupt halt, looks at Taylor like she's a madwoman who just escaped from a mental asylum, and then kissed her gently. "I don't think I'll ever not find you attractive, princess," she softly whispers against her lips.
Taylor's stomach starts doing somersaults but she tries to hide her joy so that Karlie isn't aware of just how much of an effect she has - on the outside she was playing it cool, but on the inside she was bursting with happiness. She could get used to this - to Karlie kissing her.
