"So your family own the house?" Karlie inquires from the backseat alongside Taylor, as Cara drives into Nashville.
"Yeah, it's a lake house. We used to go here every summer when I was younger," Taylor explained, as she took in Nashville from the car window - it was like she had never left, something about the city just made her feel at home, but she also did it to avoid looking at Karlie - she hadn't been able to to look her in the eyes since she heard what she did last night. She had understood that the brunette was attracted to her physically and that's why Karlie had attempted to kiss her, but she didn't think it had developed into feelings and it terrified her.
"Why did you stop?" Karlie asked, also looking out the window and at the vibrant city.
"We stopped going when my mom died. I was eight years old. But I've come by myself, during the summer, the last three years, it's not like my dad really noticed anyway."
"Wouldn't it get lonely behind here by yourself?" The brunette said.
"I made a friend when I came here with my family, and I kept in touch ever since. She usually stays with me - she's my best friend."
They kept driving until they reached the beautiful home, it had been very well designed and had its own private lake.
"Jesus. I wish I had this kind of money when I was growing up," Cara muttered as she followed the other two girls into the house. They all set up their stuff in their individual bedrooms (thankfully, Cara didn't have s mould infested room this time).
A couple of hours had passed and Cara and Taylor were sat watching a soccer game in the living room - awkwardly sitting on opposite ends of the couch, glancing at each other every now and again when the other wasn't looking.
Cara was thinking about her conversation with Karlie last night and how she'd promised to give Taylor a chance - the following morning, she realised how much she shouldn't have agreed to that when she woke up first and found the two girls snuggled closely together, she'd never been a jealous type, but at that moment, her blood was boiling. Despite that, she still thought she owed it to her best friend to be civil with Taylor.
"I'm going to go find some food, do you want anything?" She asked the blonde.
Taylor looked up at her, startled that she was willingly speaking to her, "y-yeah. Sure."
The gang member got up and went into the kitchen in search of snacks just as Karlie came down the stair- she had been making routes and plans on where to go next,
"Lauren and Camila should be here by tonight," she mentioned as she sunk her body into the couch beside Taylor and watched the girl tense up. Ever since this morning, she'd been acting strangely around her and she wasn't sure why she wouldn't meet her gaze or why she tensed up whenever they so much as grazed arms.
"I'm going to go see if Cara has found any food yet," she mumbled as she got up and walked in same direction as the blonde girl had just gone in a couple of minutes ago.
"You okay?" Cara asked when she heard Taylor's presence in the room, as she delved through cupboards, looking for food.
"Yeah," she replied, getting herself a glass of water.
Cara stopped rummaging for food and straightened herself out and faced Taylor, "hey, you know that friend you mentioned in the car?"
"Yeah, What about her?" Taylor asked dubiously.
"What are the chances you can get her to bring us food and clothes and other stuff."
"That's actually a good idea. I'll go ask Karlie if we're allowed to do that," Taylor said, about to walk out of the room when Cara spoke again.
