I watched Gerard blow on his mug of coffee before taking a sip. We had settled on a coffee/donut shop for our 'date.' The waitress hadn't even missed a beat when we had walked into the shop. But I now heard people murmuring things around us. One man muttered, "Dumb ass Party Poison." He was lucky Gerard hadn't heard him, or I would have done something, not sure what, though. Gerard smiled at me, breaking me out of my trance.

"Hey, it's fine. Don't worry about them. We were just cleared yesterday, after all." I nodded and looked down at my own cup. Gerard reached across the table and began to hold my hand. Just as we were finishing up, a man walked up to us.

"Um, I don't mean any trouble, but would you two happen to be Party Poison and Fun Ghoul?" Gerard and I shared a look before answering.

"Uh, yeah?"

"Aren't you guys wanted criminals?"

"We were cleared of charges yesterday." I looked over at Gerard as he twirled his coffee mug, content with his response.

"Oh, yeah, that's right. There was an announcement yesterday. My apologies." We assured him that it was fine and he left. We had already paid our bill, so we stood and began to collect our things. Gerard put his jacket back on and held his hand out to me. I took it and we walked out of the shop, hand in hand. He offered to drive home, but I refused.

"You still look a little woozy from, y'know, getting shot. I can drive." He nodded and sat down in the passenger seat. He fell asleep on the drive home, his head resting against the window. After I pulled into the apartment complex's parking lot, I got out of the car and gently got Gerard out of the passenger seat. I managed to get him all the way to his apartment's door before he woke up. He smiled shyly and dug the keys out of his jacket pocket. He handed them to me and I somehow managed to unlock the door and open it. I put Gerard down on the couch and watched him stretch, then bury his face into the pillows. This action was followed by a sleepy goodnight, and it wasn't long until his breathing steadied and he was asleep.
