Author's POV:

When the clock reads eleven o'clock, Mohan's yellow eyes glance towards it before bringing his attention back to the board game on the floor. The demon sits with Catherine on his left, a glaring angel on his right and a sleepy Y/N straight across from him. The man chuckles softly before standing up and smiling apologetically to the youngest female.

"I didn't realize how late it's gotten. I don't mean to end the game so soon, but I couldn't help but notice how tired you look." Faintly, he could hear Laurence releasing a displeased growl that nearly brought a smirk to Rao's lips. Oh, how he loves messing with him after their little talk. "Besides, I should head home. Oh, kitty cat," he calls to Catherine with a grin, making her stomach churn while she suppresses a gulp. "Come, walk me out. Goodnight, Y/N, Laurence."

"Bye, Rao!" The pure soul shouts while waving goodbye to Mohan. Laurence gently takes her hand before setting it down, causing the demon to hum in amusement as Catherine stands.

"Perhaps we'll play another game one day," he adds just to infuriate the angel, who doesn't hesitate to shoot the male a glare. Mohan ignores the look as he leaves the living room with his arm linked with his prey. Meanwhile, Y/N gives Laurence a questioning glance, so he tries to divert her attention to something else.

"It is getting a little late. You still have school in the morning." The male smiles sweetly at the girl and cups her cheek, allowing her to rest against it with her eyelids drooping tiredly. "And, you seem tired."

"Okay, Laurence."

"Let's put the game away. We'll play it again tomorrow." The two fold up the board and put the little pieces they played with back in the box while listening to the people talking in the other room.

"It was nice having you here, Rao. I can can see why Catherine likes you. Feel free to come back again anytime," Darin says cheerfully while walking Mohan to the door with his oldest daughter. The demon decided to say goodbye to the man before leaving in order to avoid seeming rude. He doesn't want to get on his bad side, after all, or things won't go smoothly. Y/N and her guardian angel stand, the girl carrying the box belonging to the game they cleaned up.

"I should get going as well," Laurence announces while walking towards the door. Being discreet, he sends the teen behind him a wink as a way of telling her that he won't actually be leaving. Nearly, his human giggles at the action. "Thank you for inviting me tonight. That was very nice of you, Mister Bardeau."

"How many times do I gotta say it, Laurence. Darin is fine. No need to be so formal with me. Get home safe you two."

"We will," the two supernatural creatures say in unison before saying goodbye one last time and leaving. Mohan and Laurence both exchange looks before silently splitting up to go around the house, the angel slipping into Y/N's bedroom window, while the demon enter's through Catherine's. Darin gives a rather noisy yawn before turning to his two daughters.

"Well, now that they're gone, I'm going to bed. I suggest you two do the same." The man smiles while setting a hand on the youngest's head. "Especially you, missy. It's a school night."

"Goodnight, dad!"

"Night, dad," Catherine mutters like her thoughts were elsewhere. The man heads upstairs, while Y/N smiles at her sister.
