(Rose's POV)

My eyes stared straight down into the pond. It still gave off a strange vibe, mainly because of that woman from last night. I still wonder if she roams this forest. That glow that she gave off was almost entrancing. One look could pull you in if you were not careful.

"I'm not sure if I've seen this woman before." Iris spoke up as she examined the pond for herself. "Last time that I was here, it was always empty."

The Lamia slithered passed the both of us before slipping her tail into the water. Soon enough, she sank completely into the pond. Iris sighed as she pulled Athena out of the water, completely soaked. A sly smile grew onto her lips as she turned to me. "You know, we should take a dip. It's so nice.." Her body came closer to me, making me blush hard. It was hard to not notice that her white shirt was see through.

"Stop harassing the girl." Iris grunted before throwing off her wet shoes. The Hunter cocked her head towards me. "A Lady of the Lake, huh? I loved that part of the story." She smirked before pulling out a glass vial.

"What's that for?" I asked, watching as Iris got onto her knees and filled the vial full of water.

She sealed the vial before settling it into a small pouch. "Just some samples. I'm going to send it to corporate for further investigation." Standing up straight, she turned to the both of us. "Perhaps, we can try to lure this woman and find out what she is. Take notes and all."

I blinked at the plan. Why would we need to do that? We can just find her during the night, surely.

"Today is the last day for the full moon." Athena spoke up as she squeezed out the water from her hair. "We should be careful if that woman does show up. Actually, we need to keep a lookout for any of the monsters in this forest."

Iris just placed two hands onto her hips as she looked around. In all honesty, I'm not sure if this woman would be considered dangerous in anyway. When I saw her, she just walked around the pond while I gathered the water into the bucket. All she did was just stare straight ahead.

"What if she sees us?" I questioned. "Maybe she could be friendly. She didn't try to hurt me."

"Then we find out what she does." Iris let out a sigh. "Athena will be protecting us for the most part while I examine the woman. If she's harmless, then we can continue to follow her around. If not, then we capture her and find out what we do next."

Biting the bottom of my lip, I could do nothing but comply. I didn't have an exact plan, but even if I did, why would they consider it? I'm not a professional like them.

"Alright.. Let's plan for tonight.." Iris then began to go on about tonight.

Panic and anxiety was flowing through my veins. My heartbeat was pumping at a dangerous pace at the thought of even meeting this woman. Athena and Iris agreed that she wouldn't be as dangerous as they originally thought earlier. All the woman had to do was hum and walk around the pond to convince the hunters.

Now, I was the bait.

(Athena's POV)

"Oh, I can't watch!" I covered both of my eyes, then slowly peeked out through my fingers. Just in the corner of my eyes, Iris just shook her head before looking back into the binoculars. "Do you think she'll be okay?"

It took a couple of seconds until she put the binoculars back down onto her lap. "Of course, Athena. She's seen this woman before and never got hurt, right? It would only make sense that Rose could be the bait."
