She left me. It's been months and there hasn't been a single lead that's lead me to her. She was controlling my life yet she wasn't even here. Her presence left a hole in my heart. Something changed the moment I realised she'd gone.

"Boss." Isaac entered my office the same way he had done everyday since she left. I could see that I her leaving had, had a large impact on him aswell. He was supposed to protect her and he failed. Fuck we all fucking failed her.

Me the most. I promised myself from the first night I slept with her that I'd protect her, keep her safe. I wanted so badly to be the one she came to with all her problems and now suddenly she's gone without leaving a trace.

"Anything?"

"I'm going to tell you something, only because I think it's in the both interests for both of you." He kept a neutral tone as if ensuring I wasn't about to lose my shit.

I narrowed my eyes at him before sighing and looking away. "What is it?" I asked, uninterested.

"You have to promise you won't kill me first."

My eyes flickered from the ground and back to him and I prepare myself for the obvious bad news I'm about to receive.

"I promise." I reply, rolling my eyes.

"I know where she is."

His words caught me off guard. He knows where she is. How can he know where she is when I've had men searching everywhere for her. Then it hits me, of course he knows where she is- she trusts him. He didn't let her down when I did and for that I can't hate him.

"I'll take you to her but only because I believe it'll help both of you." He had a nervous look coating his eyes as if he shouldn't be telling me this.

I stand up a grab my car keys throwing them In his direction.

We pull up outside a small apartment block not far from the hotel.

"Promise me you won't kill her."

"I know she didn't do it and although I'm not sure who's setting her up- I know in my heart it wasn't her."

With a heavy heart, I made my way to her front door and prepared myself to see her once again.

Isaac walked infront of me, pulling out a set of keys and opening the door.

"Melanie." He called out for her and the sound of footsteps were enough to make me freeze.

Inhale. Exhale.

Isaac left, closing the door behind him and leaving me alone with my over powering thoughts.

Her small frame appeared from the bedroom and as her eyes met mine I could see the brokenness. The brokenness I caused her to have.

I wanted to scoop her up into my eyes and hold her as tight as possible- telling her things would be okay; that they'd be different. But I was frozen to my spot in the living room.

"What are you doing here? Where's Isaac?" Her voice wavered as she spoke softly. God I've missed her voice- the way her American falters every now and then. The way she rolls her R's when she speaks her mother tongue or when she's angry (usually at me.)

I run my fingers through my gelled back hair nervously as I take in her appearance. She's wearing a tight pair of black jeans with a dark red blouse that hangs loosely on her. She's wearing a small pair of black strappy heels that give the illusion that she's taller than reality. Her dark curls fall down her back and around her waist; giving me a strong urge to run my fingers through them. To claim her once more.
