Jennie comes back wearing a t-shirt long enough to cover her thighs. Hanbin groans to see her exposed legs but he doesn't want to complain any longer or else he knows Jennie is going to throw him out. They start to eat silently.
"Why are you here?" Jennie can't help but asks.
"I am here because I want to. Let's eat before the food gets cold." Hanbin says briefly. He has a lot to say but held his tongue.
He looks directly at her eyes wishing she will understand why he's here.
Jennie looks away. She doesn't want to dive right through his eyes, wonder and get lost. She doesn't want to go through that again.
"I mean why are you here at this hour on our dorm? If our manager knows we'll be both killed." Jennie doesn't understands the reason why he's here. Talking to her is okay but to personally come here at this hour seems baffling and unexpected.
"They know. I asked permission to your manager and my manager. I know you don't want to get in trouble. AGAIN" Jennie simply nods and ate her jajamyeon. Unexpected or not she's thankful he's here with food at this hour. Jajamyeon and chicken is enough reason for her to agree.
"I asked Bokyung-hyung if you can come over to the studio, unfortunately he said no. He said to visit you in the dorm instead." Hanbin tries to explain what happened.
"He allowed that? Interesting." It is known that most of YG managers are strict and scary. Bokyung is one of them but someone is more strict and scarier than him it's Sangwon. Jennie trusts her the most.
It is curious for Jennie to hear that Hanbin asked permission and was granted. She doesn't know which is more confusing, is it the fact that Hanbin is with her or the fact that their manager allowed a boy to visit her at this hour.
"Yeah." Hanbin just simple bobs his head and continue eating.
Silence fills the room. Both are eating quietly. Both want to ask question but hesitating.
"I---" / "So ho---" They talk at the same time. They look at each other and laugh.
"Go ahead," Jennie said.
"No, you go ahead," Hanbin said.
"No, it's okay I forgot what I'm going to say anyway." Jennie retorts.
"Hey that's cheating you shouldn't forget it. We should insist in forcing each other to go ahead." Hanbin said while smiling cheekily.
"This is not a game Hanbin." Jennie laughs.
"Where's Kuma?" Jennie was dumbfounded by his question. Here she thought he will finally asks her a serious question. She thought she will finally know the real reason why he's here.
"He's with my mom. You know that my dogs are closer to my mom these days especially Kai, my doggo. He's attached to mom." Jennie said. She put an empahsis to the word 'my doggo' to clarify that she's talking about her dog not a certain someone.
"I want to see him though. It's been a long time since I play with both of them. Anyway, I thought you're no longer eating salty foods." Hanbin said. He plays with Jennie's dog even if they're not that close anymore. Kuma is always running towards Hanbin whenever he sees him while Kai has always been indifferent.
"I am not. This is the first time after hmnn 4 months? How did you know it anyway?"
"I don't know. I just heard it from someone. From a stylist?" He answers. He look sideways and took a peek of Jennie.
"Uh huh. I see." She licks the sauce of the chicken on her thumb and her forefinger. Hanbin notices her and offers a wet wipes.
Jennie just give him a confused look so he casually reaches for her hands and dampen her fingers one by one with wet wipes. After that he wipes her hand with a tissue.
He's telling Jennie the story on how he was able to get free drinks on his way home while taking his time to clean Jennie's hand. Jennie doesn't seem interested on his story. She's more concerned about the way Hanbin casually reaches for her hands and how relax he is while cleaning it.
She shrugs off her thought, scared of what it might imply. She reminds herself that he is Hanbin and that's just the way he is.
He really knows how to take care of people. She thought.
When they finished eating they clean the coffee table. Jennie stands up and took out the trash while Hanbin washes the utensils they used.
They both sit on the couch. Jennie is satisfied with the food Hanbin brought. She's smiling from ear to ear. "Good food for good soul indeed." She thought to herself while touching her belly. Hanbin looks at Jennie.
"Is it okay that I brought you jajamyeon and chicken? What's your schedule tomorrow?" Hanbin is suddenly worried that he did something uncalled for.
"We only have a dance practice tomorrow. We're gonna change something in our choreography for SBS Gayo Daejun on the 25th." Blackpink is preparing for the event and also preparing for their comeback. She wishes for it not to be delayed again.
"I see." Silence fills the air the air again. No one is speaking. The man is just waiting for the time to pass while the woman ponders how they used to talk back then. They're not each other exes. They're not ex-lovers but they have history together. Before Jennie can even remember how they used to be, Hanbin checks his phone and stands up. Jennie was startled and looks at him.
"It's already late. I'll go ahead so you can rest." Hanbin reach for his things and walks to the door. Jennie tags along. She's puzzled by Hanbin's action. He visits me at wee hours just to eat jajamyeon and chicken with him? She thought to herself because it doesn't make sense.
"Okay, thank you Hanbin." Jennie said before closing the door. Jennie feels sleepy after a eating a good food. She wants to know the reason why he's here but he doesn't seem interested in telling her.
"No, thank you." Hanbin gives her a reassuring smile. Jennie closes the door and head to Jisoo's room. She check her phone to see if her sisters has a message for her. She runs to Jisoo's room and land on the bed. After a minute or two she takes off to the dreamland.
Hours later, someone is looking at Jennie while she's sleeping. The girl takes a closer look at Jennie and just stares at her. Jennie feels like someone is staring at her so she's startled. Scared of what she's going to see, she forces her eyes open.
"Oh my gosh. It's only you Jisoo-unnie." She said while clasping her chest and taking a deep breath.
"You're really here in my bed huh?" Jisoo said while scooting her way on the bed.
"I am." Jennie mumbles and tries to go back to sleep. She open her one eye only to see Jisoo holding her phone.
"It's only one o'clock. Thank God the director changes his mind and let us off the hook." Jisoo chatters and tells Jennie the story of her struggle for her CF shoot. Jennie is half-asleep. She's trying to hear Jisoo's endless ranting.
"I heard from our manager that you didn't eat after your schedule today so I was worried. But thank God someone brought you food.." Jennie tries to open her eyes and say something to Jisoo but she's already defeated by sleepiness. "How does she know someone brought me food?" Is her thought before she went to the dreamland.
