Chapter 23
October 4th
On Friday afternoon, Isabella was glad to be home a little earlier than she normally would. Normally, she would come home from university on a Saturday morning. But a Friday afternoon felt good and Isabella should have considered doing this a lot sooner.
Isabella was also glad that Ryan was here with her and Mr and Mrs Doyle seemed to like him. Now Isabella wondered whether Mr Wilson would like him and she was secretly hoping he would pop over for a visit.
Isabella and Ryan were out in the paddock. It was clear that Ryan was happy to finally have his chance to meet Kahli and he thought that she was a beautiful foal, even though she was now quite big. Isabella couldn't believe that Kahli was now nearly a year old and she was growing into a fine young horse. And because of this, all the horses were allowed to be int eh one paddock and Kahli got along great with them, especially with her father.
Isabella could see that Kahli was taking after her father and Mr Doyle had also said that she was talking after her grandfather, Bailey. Isabella was glad of this because she wanted the spirit of Storm and Bailey to live on in Kahli. Isabella and Ryan watched the three horses and pony grazing in the paddock with smiles on their faces.
Before long, Ryan took Isabella's hand, getting to the serious part of why he was here, "I think it is time to talk to Tony and Elizabeth," he said.
One reason why Isabella asked Ryan over was because they both wanted to talk to Mr and Mrs Doyle about opening their own riding school and they both decided they needed to work on it quickly.
"I know, but I am afraid they will say no," said Isabella.
"There is only one way to find out," replied Ryan.
"I know. What do you think they will say?"
"I think they will say yes. From what you have said about them, I think they will be very supportive."
With that, Ryan and Isabella walked inside and they went to the lounge room. Isabella was happy when she saw that Mr Wilson had come over for a visit. She introduced Ryan and Mr Wilson before she asked if she could talk to Mr and Mrs Doyle. Mr and Mrs Doyle said they could talk, but after they walked Mr Wilson to the door. Mr Wilson said goodbye to Isabella and Ryan and said he was happy to finally have met his little sister's boyfriend. Isabella was glad that they both got along and now there was only one thing she had left to do.
When Mr and Mrs Doyle were back inside, they sat on the couch and allowed Isabella to start talking.
"I don't want you to get mad at me or try and talk me out of it because Ian has already tried to do that," Isabella started.
Mr and Mrs Doyle were clearly eager to hear what this was about.
"Ryan and I want to start out own riding school when we finish our degrees," said Isabella.
"Wow, dear, that is great, but do you think you can do it?" replied Mrs Doyle.
"With you guys helping, I think we can do it."
"So, what are your plans, then?"
"We were thinking that we could fix the burnt barn. When that is done, we can create the perfect riding school and then Ryan and I will own it. You can teach as well, Tony, and Elizabeth could help us run the place."
"I have a better idea, Bella, but it involves a drive. Are the pair of you busy?" asked Mr Doyle.
Isabella and Ryan shook their heads.
