Chapter 8
February 27th
When Tasha finished classes the next day, she raced to the train station and then to her house. She and Isabella decided that they would face time each other for two reasons.
The first was that they had a lot to talk about.
And second was the fact that Isabella was at RayBourne now.
When Tasha made it to her room, she turned on her laptop and called Isabella, anxiously waiting for her friend to answer.
And it wasn't long before she did.
"Hi," said Tasha.
"Hey, how are you?" replied Isabella.
"I am good. How are things back at RayBourne?"
Isabella studied at The University of RayBourne and she lived on campus. Since she was studying a horse course, her horse, Storm, also lived on campus with her. The best part about living on campus, Isabella had said, was that she got to spend time with her horse, her friends ad her new boyfriend, Ryan Barnes, who also lived on campus.
"Good," Isabella smiled, thinking of her boyfriend, obviously. Tasha knew what it was like to always be thinking of the boyfriend.
"Things are good with Ryan, I'm guessing?" asked Tasha.
"They are. So, you said that you wanted to talk to me about something?"
"I did," said Tasha.
Isabella nodded, asking Isabella to go on.
"I need you to help me find out about Ian's past," said Tasha.
"What? Why?" replied Isabella.
"I think he is hiding something and I want to find out what it is."
"What makes you think this?"
"Well, he is such a perfect parent and it got me thinking. Why does he find it so easy to look after a newborn baby and Amy is struggling so much with it?"
"What are you suggesting?"
"I don't know. That is why I need your help."
"Well, what do you need me to do?"
"Well, if my relationship was as strong with him as yours is, then I would talk to him."
Isabella nodded again.
Yes.
Mr Wilson liked Isabella better than Tasha.
That was what Tasha thought.
"I need you to talk to him about babies. Find out why he is so good at looking after them," said Tasha.
"That is a little strange," replied Isabella, "why are you so worried about it? Maybe he is just a natural with babies?"
"No one is a natural with babies," said Tasha, "they are hard to look after."
Isabella was clearly a little worried.
"What's wrong?" asked Tasha.
"I don't know if I want to ask Mr Wilson why he is so good at looking after babies," replied Isabella.
"Why not?"
"Do you know how awkward that would be? And it's none of my business, anyway."
"Um, remember that time you did all that digging to find out about Tony and Elizabeth's past?"
