Hermione walked her way alone into the green, grassy field of Hogwarts-- the training grounds. She doesn't really know why she chose to go there to look. It's quite impossible Scabbers would reach that far. This is where the students usually practice for Quidditch games, and where the unforgettable event took place when Ron accidentally casted his slug spell to himself instead to Draco Malfoy. That time, no one's at the said location.
"Scabbers… Scabbers? Where are you?" The brunette tried calling out to Scabbers, hoping it would magically reply, or would surprisingly show itself as Hermione walked in the middle of the field.
She turned her eyes from left, right, and across the whole place.
"Ugh, please, come out now if you're here, I need to go back to finish the article I was reading!" Hermione exclaimed almost to herself. But what came our was not what she's expecting.
"Granger?"
Hermione let out a yelp when she heard a very familiar voice that called her name from behind. She abruptly turned around to see a sneering face looking at her. As she expected, it was the Slytherin prince-- Draco Malfoy, her sole enemy and bully at Hogwarts.
Hermione doesn't know if she's hallucianting or dreaming but lately, they've been somehow giving each other the glances whenever they walk past each other at the school grounds. But Hermione doesn't fully remember when or how it all even started.
"M-Malfoy?" She didn't know she's stutter around him. "Wha-what are you doing here?"
Her face flushed a bright pink against her tan skin as he smirked at her for looking so defenseless.
"I'm practicing for the next Quidditch game, can't you see?" He replied proudly, hand gripped tightly on his latest broom, the Firebolt.
Hermione eyed the man in front of her from head to toe, thinking that the Quidditch uniform suits him very well, especially with his well built body and-- 'wait, no, I can't think about Malfoy like that!' she brushed off her thoughts immediately.
"What about you?" Draco stepped forward, moving closer to her while still holding his broomstick, "what made the bookworm Granger go into the field?"
She scoffed hardly as she rolled her eyes because of the nickname he's just given to her. Bookworm Granger.
"I'm looking for Ron's pet rat, but I suppose it's not in here." She replied, turning around and preparing to leave.
"Well, I'd say you're just sneaking around here to see me, aren't you?" He said in a teasing tone while brushing a hand on his soft, blonde hair.
After he heard that she's helping to look for the Weasel's pet rat, he felt something weird in his chest, though he didn't understand what it was.
Hermione rolled her eyes but smiled sarcastically at the white-haired, her arms crossed on her chest. "What? Why would I want to see you? You can't even defeat Harry in the last Quidditch game."
Hermione just knew what to say to make him boil to madness. His brows were knitted together, his fists tightly gripped as he gritted his teeth.
Feeling embarrased and furious at the same time, he suddenly spat to her, "You'll see, I'll defeat that scarhead the next game, and once I defeated that Potterboy the next game, i'll---"
He stopped mid-sentence. An idea just popped into his head, but he knows it's super lame and impossible. Something just came in the back of his mind and it's telling him to ask her into a date once he won against Potter, but…
'Did he just blushed? Or do I have eye problems?' Hermione thought as she folded both her arms on her chest, her weight on one foot.
"What? What are your going to do, Malfoy?""You're gonna have to admit yourself that i'm the best seeker in Hogwarts." He walked towards her, more closer than how they were before, bending to see her face to face.
Now that he's just a few inches far from her, it somehow gave Hermione a weird and awkward feeling but she tried her best to keep that feeling inside of her.
"Well, you're not, and you're never gonna win against Harry." Hermione said, trying to piss him off more.
Draco, feeling really pissed on why she kept on defending Harry, left the field with his stomping feet and disappeared soon after from Hermione's sight. Now that he's fully gone, she let out a deep, heavy sigh, feeling more relaxed than when he was with her. She doesn't understand why her heart beat faster while Draco's talking to her a while ago.
She didn't saw what she was looking for, and just got into an argument with Malfoy, so now she's ready to leave the field. She began to walk her way out of the field but then stopped when she saw a small object on the ground.
It was Ron's pet rat.
"Scabbers! Oh, thank goodness, i've already found you!" She scooped the rat in her hands and placed it in her hand firmly as she started making her way back to her friends.
"You naughty little one, why were even you out in here, huh?" She's sure both Ron and Harry would be very glad when they find out that she's found his pet and he's not lost anymore.
