Kiley:
"Working with him is so... tense!" I groaned and dropped my bookbag next to Tory.
She grinned playfully. "How tense?"
My gaze rolled to the side, glaring at her from the corner of my eyes. "You're disgusting. No. I mean, working with him is awkward and I don't want him as my partner anymore."
"It's been a day, woman."
"Felt like forever. He's so uptight, defensive, an--"
"Consider the fact that he's blind and his experiences with kids his age aren't ideal," Tory says as a matter of fact. "Chill. He'll come around. You, on the other hand, have to work on your social skills with him."
"Why?" My eyebrow raised.
"Because," she huffed as she shifted on the floor, facing me now. "If you're gonna be partners, you gotta communicate with him better. This hate-hate relationship ain't getting your grades up."
I rested my head on my knees and closed my eyes in defeat. As much as I hate to admit it, Tory is right.
