I put the note beside me on the cold metal food tray that lay on the wooden table beside me. I stare out the window, hope in my eyes. I knew it was not going to happen, they wouldn't come back...and I know that as a fact. I turned my head, now facing the food tray and star at the hell written on paper. But, I noticed something on the back...was it a... another note? I grabbed the note and read the back side of it.

"Dear Beautiful Alister,

I'm so sorry I gave you up to a abusive family," I thought about something and stopped for awhile. "I knew I should have kept you and I know you are in the Hospital. I visited you while you were asleep and I couldn't help but think 'Why would I give up such a beautiful, beautiful girl?' I don't know what I'm doing anymore and I want my daughter back.

Love Your Real Mom,

Jane." Tears started filling my eyes in happiness and sadness. I was happy that Lilac and Peter weren't my parents, but I was sad because I never knew that my real mom loved me that much. Even though I had a depressing 15 years, I will have my first happy year in a couple of days.
