Chapter 10

I'm so proud of you anak. Finally, na-experience mo na rin grumaduate.

It was Nanay Soling. Rody nodded to her and hugged her and decided not to counter her joke. He remembers this clearly, whenever he looks at his graduation picture. He's now a businessman, bought some land, built motels on it and drive in restaurants. He loaned the money he used from a generous family member who believed in his capability.

It's been a few years since he last saw and talked to Leni. After her graduation, she moved to Naga to take up law. They lost contact after that because all her contact details changed when she left the city. Rody tried to ask around but he was not able to get new information. He wanted to go to her place after his graduation but he thought of her more – she's fulfilling her dream and he does not want to be a disturbance.

He dated many women, not because he loved them but to pass the time. At some point, he just did things to survive. He knew he needed some things and worked for it. He did not forget her, but he also did not do anything to know how she's doing.

"Rody!"

It was Jess D, who's now married to Beth. Almost all of his friends are married now, but they're still reaching out to him and he is glad.

"Long time no see, kamusta ka pre?"

"Ok naman, ikaw kamusta? Anyway, ok ka man o hindi, may chismis ako sa'yo."

"Sige, ano yung chismis?"

"May balita ako on Leni. Remember her?" He said with a smirk.

"How can I forget-"

"Sus, how can I forget ka dyan, sa dami ng babae mo, minsan sabay sabay pa, di ako maniwala na di ka pa nakalimot."

"Well, sige, if that's what you think, pero ano meron sa kanya?"

"Beth heard na she's moving back to Manila."

"Good for her."

Jess looked at him. He slapped him.

"Gago, bakit may pasampal?" Rody asked him incredulously.

"Yun lang yung masasabi mo?"

"Di pa ako tapos, Jun. Pero dahil sinampal mo na ako, go on."

He sighed.

"May mga lupa ka sa Manila di ba? Why don't you visit your land and meet her ganon?"

"Sige. Kaso, may number ba sya na na-chismis si Beth?"

"Don't worry, i-forward ko sa'yo contact nya once available." Jess assured.
