Nasir didn't look the least bit worried but I was.

"Let's just get in the car." I pleaded.

"Fuck that." He replied, "I'm not finna keep dealing with this shit when Ian said nothin' to them."

His voice wasn't even close to being low and they heard every word he said. The anger was reflected on his face as he finally stopped in front of us.

"Say that shit again fuck boy."

I hoped that Nas would let it go but I should've know better. Staying quiet wasn't in his nature and he'd already let them get away with saying so much in the past.

Eric was the one to say, "Y'all really out here tryna fight a sissy." He laughed uneasily, "Gotta chill on that."

Looking at Nasir, I saw the brief flash of hurt in his eyes but it went away just as quickly as it came.

Something snapped inside of me and I heard myself say, "You really out here sneaking in his house every night." I spat, "Gotta chill on that."

It was deathly quiet as Eric looked at his counterparts, "Hoes say anything when they mad."

Nasir nearly dragged me to the entrance of our building, muttering under his breath the entire way. When we made it to his door, he turned to face me, "Why the fuck would you say that?"

I folded my arms across my chest, "Because why would he feel the need to be that extra?"

"Kyser I told you that he wasn't ready to come out, then you outed him in front of the same people that he was scared to tell in the first place."

"Who gives a fuck?"

"I do!" He shouted, "Everything isn't about you and it wasn't your place to do that!"

This wasn't how I saw this situation going at all.

Turning around, I walked back outside to my car, Ignoring the cold glare I was given by Eric.

I parted my hair into sections as I prepared myself for the daunting task of wash day. Jaxon was in the living room working on his thesis so I left him alone.

My phone rang as Josh FaceTimed me. I answered before continuing to spray the shampoo solution onto my scalp, "What?"

"What you doing?"

I leaned into view of the camera so he could see, "Washing my hair."

"Oh damn so you in for the night?" He asked.

"Yup."

"You sure you not tryna slide through this party with me?"

It actually wouldn't be that bad to go out. I had fun last time, plus Jaxon was busy and would likely be ignoring me for the remainder of the night.

If I blowdried my hair I'd be fine. I hated using heat but I'd just use a low temperature.

My wash and gos never turn out well.

"You're driving?"

"An Uber baby."

I rolled my eyes, "I'll be ready."

After getting off the phone with him, I went in the living room to tell Jaxon I was going out.

I was standing in front of him as I waited for him to stop typing and look at me when his phone vibrated over on the table.

As usual, he ignored it.

"Why do you have a phone that you never answer?"

As usual, he got defensive.

"I answer when you call, do I not?"

I stared at him when the vibrating began again and he made no move to get it.

"Answer the phone Jaxon."

His eyes remained trained on mine, "If there's something you want to know, ask me."

"I'm asking you to answer your phone." I replied calmly.

For some reason, I was in a combative mood. As I said, this wasn't the first time he let his phone ring, but this was the first time I was demanding he answer it.

Jaxon leaned over to get it, holding it in front of my face, "What does it say?"

It read Garrett Carter. I'm not sure why he wouldn't save his dad's name as 'dad' but whatever.

"I can't see." I lied while squinting my eyes.

So I overreacted and now I looked stupid. A normal day for me.

"If it makes you feel better, I'll forward my calls to your phone so you can keep tabs on who I talk to."

"That'd be nice."

He couldn't help but smile, "Relationships are built on trust, so trust me when I say I'm in love with you. Just you. Only you."

His face held nothing but sincerity.

"Remember when you proposed to me when we were having sex?"

"That wasn't a proposal."

"You said you wanted to spend the rest of your life showing me how much you loved me." I stated matter-of-factly, "What do you call that?"

"When I propose, you'll know."

I smiled widely at his use of the word 'when', "I think we should just elope this weekend."

He picked his laptop back up, "You hear that fish in there barking?"

"Who let your old ass on Facebook?" I asked with a laugh while sitting next to him, "Anyway, I was coming to tell you I'm going out tonight."

"Going out where?"

I shrugged, "I don't know details. I'm going with Josh."

Jaxon hasn't been a fan of Josh since I told him that's who was in my house that day. However, we were able to come to the conclusion that I wouldn't let it escalate pass us being friendly.

"What time will you be back?" He asked.

I shrugged again.

"I planned on staying at my house tonight anyway so this works."

Leaning over, I gave him a kiss and went to go finish washing my hair.
