KATE'S POV

“I already said everything I know." Jandro says and his brother nods in agreement.

"Me too. What now?"

"I'm really sorry to call you Mr. Davila. You must be in the middle of griefing." I apologize. With his pregnant fiancée murdered, life sure wasn't a piece of cake. I remember it clearly as if it had happened yesterday, when I saw my father looking down at his feet and not wanting to look me in the eye. His cheeks covered with tears, and his voice cracking as he quietly and barely audible told me the news about my mother, and his wife. The love of his life. With Castle gone, it feels like he ripped the stitches out that had held together my heart. Castle had been my stitches; the way he made me laugh, and want to kiss him. I was so happy, and now...

"Yes. I just can't understand who in their right mind could hurt such a gentle creature like Claire." He sobs , and rubs his eyes.

"It will be quick. I just wanted to check something."

"And what did you want to check?" Julio interrupted rudely. He had been quiet the whole time, awkwardly sitting at the corner of the desk in the interrogation room.

"I want to ask Mr. Davila if he knew of Claire's pregnancy."

"Of course I knew. I was so happy... And, oh God, now that gone, too." Jandro covers his face with his hands and is crying. Julio strokes his shoulder, and angrily shakes his head at me.

"I fully understand. Thank you so much for coming. You can leave now. Good evening." I guide Jandro to the door, before facing Julio, who had sprung from his seat, and started following Jandro.

"Not you, Mr. Domingo. Please, take a seat." I say in my best bitter-sweet voice.

"I am more than willing, but why?"

"Well, Mr. Domingo. Isn't it obvious?"

"No," He shakes his head, and furrows his eyebrows, "I am confused."

"I just read over Mr. Davila's and Claire's will, and I found something very interesting. Did you know that if Mr. Davila dies you will inherit all his millions, not Claire. Only if Claire had a child from Mr. Davila, or was pregnant. Oh, what a surprise. Claire was pregnant. And then she suddenly dies. That's fortunate for you, Mr. Domingo."

"What? Are you accusing me of murdering my brother's love of his life? I might be a bit rude, but not crazy! Jandro loved Claire, and still does. I could never hurt her without hurting him. And I would never intentionally do that."

"Spare me the drama. We're not in a soup opera. You are broke. There is absolutely nothing on your bank account except some pretty high debt, which is due next month. What happened,Julio? Did your rich brother not lend you the money, knowing that you could never pay him back?"

"Ms. Beckett. By all respect, wouldn't I have killed my brother in that case?"

"Ah, there you have me," I raise my hands up in fake-agony, before slamming them down on the steel table," You could never do that, Julio. You love your brother. He is your younger sibling. Your best friend. The little boy you need to protect. You couldn't kill him. So you killed the next best thing. Claire"

"You have no literally no proof." Julio declares.

"I wanted to give you chance, Julio, because I like your brother. I can relate to him, and didn't want to pull him into this. His pregnant to-be wife was murdered by his older brother. He will go mad. Hell, even I would go mad at that point. So, I will warn you now. I will find proof, because criminals always mess up. You should trust me, I had the creme de la creme in this room. And from this room right behind barred windows."
