4: Polar bear

You were like a polar bear:
Warm yet cold.

How you kept me snug all winter,
Leaving breakfast in bed with
A glass of orange juice and a slice
Of toast.

Yet when summer came, you got
Your claws out, tearing and roaring
And waking up our cubs from their
Deep sleep.

You were like a polar bear:
Protective yet demanding.

When you beat up them guys at
The bar cause they flirted with me.
And how you always embrace me
In your sleep and mumble my name.

Yet you always ask me where I'm going,
Wanting things to go your way.
And how you chant orders around
Our cave like you were still back there.

You were like a polar bear:
Strong yet soft.

You would be the type of man
You would go to war with.
Battling out and almost killing
Yourself because you were unstoppable.

Yet when no one was looking,
Except I caught you,
You were crying mute by the window,
Repeating sorry and whispering how
Much you loved me.

You were like a polar bear.
My polar bear.
My one and only,
Polar bear.
