Daniel smiled at the girl, she sat in the seat across from him and fiddled with her fingers.
"Sorry I'm late," she said, "I really tried my best to get here on time but it didn't work out with my heels and my car has, like, no gas! I was going to run but I know for a fact I would've fallen so I had my friend drive me but she got stuck in traffic so she wasn't really on time. And I am rambling."
"It's cute," I smile, "You're cute."
"I look like a wreck," she said.
"I wasn't talking about your looks, although you look stunning," I said.
"You're quite the charmer," Y/N said.
"You're quite the-"
"Y/N! Y/N!"
I turned towards the voice, Y/N doing the same, it landed on a girl with short blonde hair and pale skin.
"What's wrong, Rosie?" Y/N asked.
The girl looked at me and widened her eyes, I shook my head and she looked sad but turned back to Y/N.
"Leilani got a scrape on her knee," the girl, who Y/N called Rosie, said.
"That's it?" Y/N asked, "You ran here over a scrape? Just throw a bandaid on it and give her a cookie, she'll be fine."
"Oh," she said simply, "Okay have fun guys!"
The girl ran out and I turned to Y/N, "So who's Leilani?"
Y/N hummed a little, "Nobody."
I nodded, "She sounds like a kid, the way you two talked about her."
"She's nobody," Y/N repeated.
"Got it," I said.
She smiled at me and grabbed my hand, "I'm gonna go order, do you want me to get you anything?"
"Oh no," I said, "I'll go order for us."
"No," she said, "I can."
"I'll do it," I say, standing from my seat. She opens her mouth to speak but I beat her to it, "And I'll pay, what do you want?"
"Daniel please-"
I raise an eyebrow and bite on my lip, I hum as I wait for her to argue but she sighs.
"You can't use being attractive to win because that's an extremely unfait advantage against anyone," she said, "And a small vanilla latte."
"Hot or iced?" I ask.
"Iced please," she smiles.
"I'll be back," I say.
I pull my card out of my wallet before I get to the counter and order. I feel like I was missing something as I swiped my credit card. I finished the transaction and waited for the drinks to be done. Once they were I grabbed them and brought them back to the table.
"You dropped your wallet," Y/N said, passing it to me.
"Oh, thank you," I say, grabbing it from her as she takes a sip from her drink.
