𝙔/𝙉

I flattened the dress Leilani wore and I smiled, pressing a kiss to her cheek. She played with the little bow on it as she smiled.

"Mommy," she said, "Why do you lie?"

I look at her and frown, "I do it so we can live."

"Does Daniel know you lie?" Leilani asks, "You talk about him a lot."

"No baby," I say, "He doesn't know."

She nods and smiles, "Where are we going?"

"Aunty Rosie's taking us to a concert," I smile, "And we're taking you even though you're literally three."

"Listen to music?" she asks. The sound of my phone rings loudly from the living room.

"Lot's of music," I say, lifting her.

"Do you like the music?" she presses.

"I've never heard it," I say.

I walk to the living room of the small apartment and pick it up, I look at the name and see that it's Daniel. I sit her on the couch and put my finger to my lips, I pick up the phone and click the green circle.

"Hey babe," I say.

"Hey, you left your jacket at my house," he says.

"I have my jacket on right now," I reply.

"Well you left your shirt," Daniel says.

"I didn't take off my shirt, Seavey," I giggle.

"I miss you," he says.

"You saw me yesterday," I reply. Leilani started hitting my shoulder and I whisper, "Stop it."

"Stop what?" he asks.

"Sorry I was talking to Rose," I say.

"Liar liar pants on fire!" Leilani yells.

"Who was that?" Daniel asks.

I make an angry face at Leilani, "I'm babysitting."

"Alright then," Daniel says, "I just wanted to see you tonight."

"I'm going to be busy tonight," I say, "I'm sorry."

He sighs, "It's alright baby."

I smile at the petname, "I have to go, I'll see you tomorrow or something?"

"Tomorrow or something it is," Daniel jokes.

"Bye loser," I giggle.

"Goodbye gorgeous," he says.

I pull my phone away from my ear and click the red button before glaring at Leilani. She scrunches up her face in anger and I roll my eyes at her.

"You're lucky I love you," I say.

I groaned and picked up Leilani for the third time, we had finally got our tickets' scanned and started walking up towards the merchandise shop. Rose was so excited, more excited than before. She had taken me to concerts and was never this excited, I was honestly worried. As we neared Rose let out a loud squeal and I stopped when I looked at the faces printed. I pull out my phone and Leilani points towards my homescreen then the articles of clothing.

"Daniel!" she giggled, "Daniel lies like you!"

"Shut up," I whisper.

Rose runs back over, "Surprise."

"You never should've brought me here," I say, "Not with Leilani at least."

Rose's smile drops and she tilts her head, "What's wrong?"

"You bought us shit to meet them," I say, "I told Daniel I was babysitting. How do I explain that my best friend took me and my daughter to his concert?"

"Look Y/N," Rose said, "You have serious lying issues and apparently so does he."

I roll my eyes, "Whatever, let's just go inside already."

She nods and smiles, taking my free hand and pulling me into the venue. After waiting in our seats for longer than needed, a few bathroom trips for Leilani, and Rose trying to get my mood in check the lights went down. I sunk in my seat as unfamiliar music started playing, but then his voice filled the arena and Leilani clapped.

The moment lights were on him he made eye contact with me, once the next boy started singing he furrowed his brows. I sighed as I looked around, wanting to look at anything but him.

"Daniel I can explain," I say.

He follows me with his eyes as I sit next to him.

"Rose dragged me here and-"

"Jonah told me that you're a mom," he says.

"We've known eachother for a couple weeks-"

"We've been dating for two months," he says, "You haven't mentioned being a mom for two months."

I nod, "You didn't mention being famous."

"I said I was a musician," he says.

I press a kiss to his lips and pull away quickly, "I'm going to sound so stupid right now."

"When do you not," he jokes.

I roll my eyes and lean in again, pressing my lips to his and pushing him backwards on the couch.

"You looked so good on that stage," I whisper.

"You looked so good being all flustered," he says. He pushes me off of him and he stands up. He smiles, "I'm still mad."

He walks out and I sigh, knowing the night would be long.
