In light of the recent growth in "cancel culture" I thought it should be important to address more sensitive topics that will be in my novel, even if they aren't the central topics.
I understand that abuse is a difficult topic that should not be treated lightly. Though it is not the main topic I seek to cover in this novel, I still believe I should address any misconceptions that readers may have with it. Please understand that what I am writing is purely fictitious, I am not seeking to romanticize it, and if you are facing any kind of abuse whether it's physical or alcohol abuse you should seek professional help. I will probably not be accurate/too graphic in depicting real-world abuse in this novel.
When coming up with the concepts and stories for this fanfiction I wanted to encounter topics that the MCU at the time--2019--hadn't touched base on. This fanfiction isn't per se a fanfiction, but more of an outlet to practice my writing and learn how to handle difficult, challenging, and dynamic approaches for story/character development.
