That afternoon, Frank and I went back to my house, seeing as it was completely empty due to my mother and father working and Mikey being at school.
"Did you have fun?"
Frank asked softly from where we were sat in the kitchen, me on the counter, him by the side door, blowing smoke out the small crack in the door.
"Of course I did."
I smiled.
"I had two of my favorite things...you..and coffee."
I felt my cheeks heat up slightly, but I didn't mind because so did his.
"You're too sweet."
He said, a smirk on his lips.
"I know. "
He put out his cigarette and let it drop from his fingers into the glass ash tray by the door step, then the door closed abruptly as he walked over to me, taking a seat beside me on the counter.
"Sorry ive been making you miss school."
He muttered, his shoulders slightly slumped.
"You havent been making me."
I chuckled.
"Ive chose not to go...in order to hang out with you...and not be beat to a pulp at school."
At that he sighed, but so did I.
"I dont see why the asshole doesn't just back off already. Ive knocked the shit out of him once, ill proudly do it again."
"Frank, you dont have to break and bruise these jerks at school just because they choose to be dicks."
"Well I want to. You know...to..like..help you."
He trailed off, letting his eyes fall to the ground, scanning over the checker tiles that littered the kitchen.
I noticed that his feet didnt exactly touch the ground, which was rather adorable and-
I just called Frank adorable.
Frank.
I called another boy who most likely didnt find me adorable....adorable.
"Well.." my cheeks flushed. "Thank you."
His gaze averted from the ground and met mine, putting a small smile on my lips.
"Its okay."
He returned the smile.
Suddenly we were pulled into a silent, unannounced starring contest that mostly consisted of me being pulled into the beauty that was Frank Iero.
"Gerard..?"
His voice pulled me from my thoughts.
"Hm?"
I hummed, returning my gaze back to my lap.
"I uh...I think..-"
"What?"
He went silent.
"Nevermind."
His voice was softer, and made him sound more vulnerable.
"Frank..what is it?"
I looked back over at him and suddenly we were pulled back into the starring contest.
"Its nothing."
He breathed, still keeping his eyes on me.
"Obviously it isn't nothing."
"Its just not important. "
"I bet you it is."
He inhaled a sharp breath, a shaky one at that.
"I think I like you."
He blurted out, nervousness emitting from him and filling the room.
After what felt like ages I found my voice again.
"And... I think... I like you too."
His eyes filled with hope suddenly and a smile crept to his lips.
"Really?"
I nodded slowly, our eyes still fixed on one another.
"I really like y-"
"Gerard?"
My mothers voice echoed through the house, as well as the sound of a door opening and closing.
I sighed, jumping down from the counter.
"In here ma'."
I called and she ended up a few feet in front of me.
"I just got a call from your school, you've not been attending classes?"
"Uhm..no i-i think they just..messed up on attendance. I wouldn't skip."
Wow. Lying to your mother are we now, Gerard?
"That isnt what they tol-"
Then I guess she finally noticed Frank, who was still sat on the counter.
"Oh. Frank. I-i didnt see you."
She breathed, plastering on the fakest of fake smiles.
He waved slightly, swinging his legs back and forth.
God. He was adorable.
"You're not out of this, Gerard." She said, her tone now stern.
I sighed overdramatically.
Then before the argument could continue she was walking away. I didnt know Frank being here saved me from her scolding me.
I turned to him, smirking slightly.
"I guess you're my lucky charm."
His cheeks turned a light shade of pink and he jumped down, wrapping his arms tightly around me.
"And you're mine."
