**WOW sorry this took 5839937283 years to update. School's been keeping me busy and thank freaking god my girlfriend gets back to florida soon bc how much I miss her is making me v sad and its hard to write cute chapters you know? But anyway i finally finished TA DA hope you like it♡♡**

We were walking through the forest for a while, but not in the normal direction. Not toward our cabin-

And I just called it our cabin. It was a subconscious thing, to be honest,  but I liked it.

Instead of staying in the forest, we walked through the last few trees opening up to a ghostly highway that looked to be barely used. Across the road was a small shop labeled, simply, 'Coffee'.

I chuckled slightly, crossing the unbusy road next to frank.

"Um. Where are we?"

I asked softly.

"I thought you knew how to read.."

He smirked, giving my hand a squeeze.

"They sell coffee here."

I rolled my eyes and we stopped outside the shop before going in.

"Obviously.  But. Uh. Why are we here? "

He just shrugged and drug me inside. The short woman behind the creaky looking counter smiled at frank and put down the book she was reading to have a proper look at him.

"Frankie! I havent seen you in ages thought left us again. "

Again?

He weakly smiled, walking toward her and leaning over the counter to hug her.

"Just been busy is all."

"Well im glad youre doing better. "

Her eyes fluttered to me and she smiled again. She had a nice smile, one thatd make the room seem a bit brighter.

"Oh uh. Janet, this is Gerard, Gerard..Janet."

"Hi."

I smiled back, knowing mine wouldnt be as bright as hers.

"Here, you two sit down. Frank im assuming youll have a coffee-light one sugar..."

He nodded.

"Yes ma'am. "

He smiled, and damn, his smile was even brighter and it sent my stomach doing flips.

"And what can I get you?"

Id gotten so lost in Franks lip-ringed smile I didnt realize she had asked me a question.

"I uh. Just black coffee please."

I said softly, looking around the place. It was completely empty other than Janet, Frank, and I. As far as I could tell. All of the furniture wasnt completely modern, but it wasnt completely aged either. It was a small place, and when you walked in the overwhelming scent of coffee beans and chocolate hit you so hard you almost fell over.

Janet took down our orders and shot us both an assuring smile before walking away into what id assumed was the kitchen.

"So. You know her?"

I asked softly, resting my chin in my palm which was propped up on the table with my elbow.

"Yeah she uh...she helped me out when I really needed it."

It looked like it almost pained him to speak those words. I didnt understand why though and I wasnt going to press it.

"Oh."

Was all I could say.

Suddenly his foot brushed against my leg under the table and my eyes shot back up at him, noticing the prominent smirk playing at his soft lips.

"Hey, im good. Dont get all debby-downer on me."

"Sorry. I uh. Didnt realize I was."

We feel into a quite comfortable silence for a few moments before I decided to break it.

"So how'd you find this place anyway.  Its like in the middle if nowhere. "

He chuckled slightly, taking a glance out the window and seeing nothing but an empty road and a dense forest we'd frequently walked through.

He then shrugged slightly, wringing his hands together.

"Janet's a family friend and she told us that she started working here, so yeah. Been coming here ever since."

I nodded slowly then Janet herself came back over, two mugs in her hands.

"Here you are boys."

She said with a smile and it was only then I realized she had a light southern accent. It suited her appearance now that I think about it. The way her dirty blonde hair fell slightly over her eyes when she turned to quickly and her bright blue eyes that were lined neatly with a black line of eyeliner, shined. They were accompanied by soft blue shadow that made them pop nicely. Also her lips seemed to be stained a nice shade if pink but was smeared slightly due to wearing it out all day.

"Thank you, J."

Frank smiled at her, taking a sip of the scolding drink.

She hummed a 'welcome, sugar' and made her way back in the assumed kitchen.

I took the mug in my hands, the hot liquid radiating into my palms that were fortunately covered my my sweatshirt sleeves.

I spipped slowly at the coffee, letting my mind wander. What did she mean by saying she thought frank left again? And I wasn't exactly sure if I believed she was just a family friend.

"Hows your coffee?"

His gentle voice flowed through my ears and brought me back afloat from my thoughts.

"Hm. Yeah, its really good. Thank you."

I mumbled, pressing my lips to the brim of the mug.

"Im glad."

He smirked and dear god it was possibly the cutest face I've seen on him.

We finished our drinks in silence, but it was a nice silence not the kind when you just cant think of something because you have nothing in common,  but the kind that you didnt need words to fill the spaces, everything was already filled up.

--

"Thanks J, ill be back soon, dont you worry bout me."

Frank said with a soft smile as he leaned over the counter to hug her once more before we left.

"You'd better. "

She shot him a smile in return, but her eyes seemed sad.

"I will."

"You two better get going."

Her voice piped up after a few moments of silence.

Frank nodded, agreeingly and took my hand, the sudden warmth startling me.

"Thanks again."

I smiled, letting frank lead me through the doorway.

Id had a lovely time,  its just the way that she spoke to him that really confused me. Maybe frank was being honest and maybe she was just a family friend, but how could I be sure? It was all so much to understand with no previous knowledge.
