RAVENNA'S POV

I tapped my finger against the wood in a slow rhythm, the metal claws making dents where they hit. I looked at the two men in front of me, father and son, caught attacking a supply train.

I rose and stepped down from my throne. "Your son?" I aimed the question to the old man, who nodded immediately. "Handsome" I remarked, lifting his head by his chin as I spoke tantalizingly. "Obviously a debt owed to your mother. There was a time I would have lost my heart to a face like yours. And you, no doubt, would have broken it"

I ran my hands over his hair, yet he didn't flinch, looking me directly in the eyes as I spoke to him. When he attempted to look away, I gripped onto his chin and forced him to look at me. My hands left him, and he reached for the guard next to him. he grabbed his dagger and plunged it into my stomach with brute force.

The pain I felt was insurmountable. It felt as though the area was on fire, plunging into my stomach and tearing my pathetically fragile skin.

I hurled over, holding my stomach where he had hit. Crying out and groaning,  I pulled the dagger clean out of my stomach, not a drop of blood on the blade nor on my dress. I breathed heavily as the men in front of me widened their eyes in fear.

I dropped the knife, anger consuming me. I voiced my thoughts. "You would kill your queen?" I questioned, ripping him to his feet with my own brute force. I glared into his eyes when he was at his feet.

"Such courage, such beauty. But how strong is your heart?" I sneered, placing a hand over his heart, the claws digging into his skin. My hand shook as my power flowed through it and into him. He started breathing heavily as I worked his heart faster. The old man squirmed and cried out for his son, but I was too consumed with my magic. I let out a groan when I had sucked all life from him.

The guard went to grab the man, but I stopped them. "Leave him! Let him return to the Duke and speak of the generosity of his queen" I turned instantly after my command and left the room.

"Out!" Finn shouted, following after me to aid me. I had to stop and clutch my side as more pain grew where I had used magic.

After I had calmed down, I examined myself in the mirror. I had wrinkles, my skin looked like I had aged 30 years in three seconds.

I stared disdainfully at them in the mirror while Finn stood behind me, a reassuring hand on my shoulder.

"Magic comes at a lofty price" He said, leaning his head on my shoulder as he observed how upset I was.

"And the expense grows" I choked out, tears rising to my eyes.

"You look-"

"Old" I cut him off.

"Tired" he finished. I closed my eyes for a moment and felt the usual sting when I was tired.

"My power.... fades" I said. He kissed me lightly on the shoulder in reassurance, lifting his head and smiling at me.

"Shh. I have something for what ails you." Tilting my head to him in confusion, he brought forth a girl.

She was young, but plain in her beauty. Stepping towards her distressed figure, I lifted her by the throat and consumed her youth, causing her to turn into an old woman.

My skin was once again smooth and tight and beautiful. Something I had missed even if it were only a minute.

Finn left me be, and for a minute I stared into the mirror, summoning it like I had a few days prior.

"Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?" I asked once again.

The deep voice replied to me quickly. "My queen, on this day, one has come of age, fairer even than you. She is the reason your powers wain"

Anger bubbled at my soul. "Who is it?" I asked as calmly as I could manage.

"Cersei Rose" he spoke. My face contorted with sadness and anger.

"Cersei Rose? She is my undoing? I should've killed her when she was a child. What of her twin?" I scolded myself at my mistake.

"Snow White has also come of age, yet you are waining. Soon, she will be fairer too. Be warned, their innocence and purity is all that can destroy you. But Cersei is also your salvation, queen. Take her heart in your hand and you shall never again need to consume youth. You shall never again weaken or age"

I grinned. "Immortality. Immortality, forever" I turned my head and shouted. "Finn!"

My brother stepped out of the shadows. "Brother, bring me the king’s daughters" Finn nodded and left for the north tower, where he will bring me my salvation.

CERSEI'S POV

A bird perched itself on the bar of the small window. Snow looked up at it in wonder, and I let her be as I sat upon the bed, twirling the knife in my hand, the blade sheathed.

Today was our birthday. The queen would be blind to look at us now and say that we do not threaten her reign. It was that thought that I hoped she would drag us out and kill us.

Then we could make our escape.

Snow reached out for the bird and tried to grab it, but it took flight before she could. She noticed something, reaching her arm through the window and tugging it.

I gazed at her curiously. What is she doing?

After a short moment of struggling, she ripped whatever it was out of the wall and pulled her arm back.

In her hand, was a sharp nail. I grinned at her.

"Good eye. Now you have a weapon too" I praised. She smiled shyly at me. That's a quality I never developed, shyness.

There was a loud noise where the gate had opened down the hall. I un
sheathed my dagger and moved to the fireplace, concealing it all in the straw.

Snow jumped down and wrapped herself up in the blankets we had. Snow concealed the nail under her pillow.

The creaking to the door allowed me to smile. We were getting out.
