Hi
My name is Lydia-Rose Sparrow, but people just call me Lydia or Lyd if we're good friends.
And yes, my surname does bring up many questions and yes, I am Jack Sparrows daughter, he just isn't aware of me yet. He thought it was a lie when my mother said she was pregnant with me before he left her on a desert island. Nope!
My mother passed away two years ago, leaving me alone in Tortuga.
I'd say I've made a decent life for myself, I'm strong and know how to sword fight, I'm a tactical planner, good shot, what more could you need?
There's only one thing I've ever wanted. And that is my father. Yes, THE Captain Jack Sparrow. All I seek is his approval and acceptance. I've never met him thus far, but I hear tell that he is on his way to Tortuga as of this moment in time.
My plan is that when he docks I'll be able to talk to him, or join his crew or something, then later get to talk to him.
And so I kept my eye out for that black pearl, my fathers ship.

    Time Skip
    3 days later

As look would have it, it was early morning and I heard yelling outside. I slowly trudge out of the tavern I was staying in and stared into the distance where I saw the one true thing I was searching for.

I hurried over to the pearl, sword in hand just incase, you never know what exactly can happen in the wretched hive of Tortuga.

As I reached the pearl I was staring at it, mouth gawping. It truly was a huge vessel to say the least. There were men hurrying around on deck and people yelling directions.

As I turned my head I saw a pirate hop down from the ship. He had Captain's hat on with dreadlocks hanging from underneath it. He had a very visible tan with dark lines underneath his deep chocolate eyes. His moustache rested above his pride holding lips and a goatee just visible underneath. As he walked he swayed from side to side and moved his arms around in a remarkably amusing way.
I saw him making his way slowly over to me, this made me anxious. Was this the man that had escaped being marooned on an island with only one shot using sea turtles and hair from his back? Was this the man that had left me and my mother on an island all those years ago. I saw no other possibilities. I had seen pictures of him and his appearance matched up in my mind. Could this man be my father?

As he finally reached me he smiled down at me.
"What be your name lass?" He asked me in a low, gravelly voice.
"Lydia-Rose but call me Lydia," I smiled, holding my hand out to shake.
He hastily took it and grinned.
"Captain Jack Sparrow at your service," he bowed jokingly. At this my mind went spiralling. This man was my father, my dad, the person that I had been waiting to meet my entire life. After I hadn't replied for a moment he coughed awkwardly and my head shot back up with a big smile on my face.
"Well love, have you come to join my crew?" He questioned.
I nodded my head excited and desperate. He looked at me suspiciously and then raised an eyebrow.
"We don't usually allow women onto the ship, what do you have to offer love?"
"I can sword fight, my mother taught me since I was five, I have an accurate shot, I think ahead, I'm a good worker, I'll work till I'm blue in the face, please Captain, I beg you" I pleaded, desperation evident in my eyes.
The Captain looked impressed as much as he tried to hide it.
"How old are you lass?" He asked.
  "Fourteen next month," I replied.
"Very well," he muttered under his breath, almost inaudible.
"Welcome to the black pearl," he smiled.
I almost jumped in victory and excitement however managed to contain myself in order to avoid suspicion.
  "Thank you sir," I grinned.
"Please, call me Jack," he proposed. I nodded smiling before he winked and signalled at me to climb aboard.

I did you, feeling at home for the first time in my life. What worried me was telling him. He doesn't seem like the father kind of guy. I just didn't want him to kick me off the ship so I had decided to wait a few days, in order to make sure he couldn't just leave me in Tortuga.

As I climbed on deck. I was met with many confused faces. Probably because I'm a girl. A man with white hair and sideburns came over to me and greeted me.

"Are you lost?" He questioned. I shook my head and pointed down to the Captain.
"No sir, I was hired by Captain Jack to be apart of this crew," I replied with a smile. Now everyone looked even more confused.
"And what may your name be miss?"
"Lydia-Rose or Lydia," I smiled. Everyone had seemed to resume their post as they saw the Captain board. I looked behind me and there he was in all of his glory.
He gave me a kind smiled before walking off to the white haired man. I looked around for something to do before finding a job. I worked my socks off till nightfall. I tried the mast before I decided to slide down and clean the deck. I found my way below deck looking for cloths and a bucket. As I was there, I found a heavy abundance of random crates and boxes. As I began to look through them in search of the cloths I found a half empty bottle of rum. I chuckled to myself before popping the cork and chugging it. Once I was finished I disregarded it and resumed my search.

Once I had finally found them I made my back up on deck and began to clean the rails. Jack watched me from a distance as I could see from my peripheral vision. This gave me even more motivation to do better, after all I wanted to make a good first impression on my father before I told him. That was most nerve-racking for me. I continued to scrub until everyone else had gone below deck to sleep.
Jack came up from behind me and patted me on the back.
"Excellent work lass, I'm impressed!" Jack smiled while taking a huge gulp of his rum.
I smiled at my father, I held back the urge to talk to him on the spot for I thought it would be best to wait for the morning.
  "Thank you Jack," I grinned.
"Why don't you find a spare hammock below deck and get some rest for the night love," he asked before patting my shoulder again, turning on his heel and drunkedly making his way to his cabin. I smiled back at my father before making my way down below deck, lying in a hammock and falling into a deep sleep, thinking about how I would tell my father tomorrow.
