(Y/N)'s POV

"(Y/N), could you do the grocery for ingredients today? I will take care of the shop!" Grandpa Yonghwan yelled in the kitchen.

I shouted back, "Okay, Grandpa!"

I swiftly finished my task of wiping the countertop. There were no customers at the moment and so I was doing nothing and just cleaning.

Grandpa Yonghwan came out of the kitchen and went to me. He handed me the list of the items he wanted me to buy along with the money. I accepted it and bid him a goodbye.

"Make sure to buy all the things on the list," he reminded me.

I nodded and replied, "I will. I will do my best to be quick so that I can be home in no time."

He gave me a smile and headed back to the kitchen to what he was doing. I exited the coffee shop and immediately started walking towards the direction of the market. While I was walking, I heard someone call my name.

"(Y/N)!"

My eyes hastily tried finding the source of the yell and it turned out to be Irene. She quickly headed towards me and joined me walking.

"What brings you here?" I asked, still a bit shy with talking with her.

"I just got off school and was heading home," she replied. "You?"

I got out the list of items I need to buy, letting her see it. "Grandpa told me to buy ingredients while he tend to the store."

"Oh so you're going to the market? I'll join you since it's on my way home, I'll even help you buy the things."

I turned to face her and waved my hand, along with shaking my head. "Ah, you don't need to help me and can just go on your way home,"

I didn't need to bother her anymore with my own task and so I politely asked her to go on her way home. I realized that Irene really was kind, just thinking about her offering and going out of her way to help me with buying ingredients.

"Aish, you don't need to send me home early. I also want to walk for a bit so this works." she let out a laugh.

For some unknown reason, hearing her laugh made me a bit happy. I stared at her for a while, trying to know her reason for helping me but I couldn't find any at all.

However, I could see that Irene had something on her mind as I saw her frown a bit. I wanted to ask her what was wrong but I didn't want her to think I was seeming close to her when in fact I wasn't after all we had just met a few days earlier and this was only our second time meeting. But I still was curious and worried that something was upsetting her so in the end, I asked her.

"Irene?" I started and my hand just automatically went to the back of my neck rubbing it and looking a bit awkward. "Is something bothering you?"

She was surprised to hear me ask as she turned her gaze towards me. She seemed to know that I caught her switch of mood earlier. Though I could see that she didn't want to answer my question, she eventually told me.

"Ah, so you've noticed..." she laughed a little yet it clearly sounded fake.

I didn't know what to say and so I waited for her to tell me when she was ready. Honestly, I was worried a little as she looked sad and frustrated for some reason.

"My boyfriend and I aren't in good terms right now..." she spoke in a sad voice.

I didn't expect it to be like that at all but shockingly for me, the information that she has a boyfriend turned out to be the first one I picked up fast, rather than she has problems with her boyfriend.

I cleared my throat a little as I prepared to ask more question but caught myself as I saw her face turned sad and not the smiling countenance she had earlier.

Her issue with her boyfriend might be serious if she looked like that but I guess I was reminded of my own also as I felt my mood soured a bit, just thinking about my recently-ended relationship.

"He just went cold and distant all of a sudden," Irene blurted in a frustrated way. "I don't know what's going on with him and it's stressing me out."

I was certainly flabbergasted with her outburst, I thought she was gonna stay quiet all the way but I guess she really needs to let it out.

"I confronted him about it and he told me to mind my own business as if I don't have the right to know it," she added.

"Maybe there's really something going on with him and he didn't want to let you worry about it, that's why he told you to mind your own business..." I tried reasoning.

Irene turned to me and stared for a moment before saying, "Then why did he have to say that? If he doesn't want to tell me, he could have told me to that he didn't want me to worry about it."

I could feel that she was still upset and frustrated about it. We arrived at the market shortly and so our conversation ended and was cut off.

Both of us focused on the task at hand. Getting each and every ingredient on the list was not that hard, in fact, we were done in only twenty minutes.

We went to the entrance of the market as we needed to part ways now since Irene needed to go home and me to get back to the coffee shop.

I took the plastic bags out of her hands and bowed my head, grateful for her help.

"Thank you, Irene. Though you really didn't have to accompany me."

She gave me a small smile, "You don't need to thank me really."

"But I want to, so thank you." I smiled at her.

She blushed a little before finally saying something. "I guess this is goodbye for now,"

"I guess so too,"

"Goodbye, (Y/N). Be safe on the way home and tell Grandpa I said hi." she waved then turned around, walking away.

"I will, stay safe!" I said loudly.

I was a little glad I got spend time with her. With a happy mood, I turned around and started heading towards the direction of the coffee shop with a smile on my face.
