FIRST TIME READERS:
I'm in the middle of editing this book. It's to fix grammatical issues and make scenes flow better. Meaning FTR can proceed with a peace of mind. No major plot changes will be made.
NOTE #1: There is a sequel to this novel; Angel in the Courtyard.
NOTE #2: You can read Demons from Jackheights and it's sequel on its own but be prepared for a few spoilers from Devil on the Rooftop and Angel in the Courtyard.
Thank you for being here and giving my work a try. Have a lovely one!

He folds and creases the paper until it transforms into a plane. Pressing his fingers against the base of the contraption, he sends it off with the wind. His eyes follow it hoping it will stay up long enough to satisfy his wishes but it doesn't. It can't because science tells us what goes up must come down.
The paper plane begins to drop. It's inevitable, he knows this, but he can't help feeling disappointed. He turns his back to the wind and exits the rooftop, his heavy heart unprepared to see where his future will land.
The wings begin to tremble as the plane descends in front of Arisa Hoffman.
New to the school grounds, she's unsure of what to make of her discovery. Arisa picks up the paper plane, unravels it, and reads its content. Her eyes skim the acceptance letter from an Ivy League school. It's addressed to someone named Loyal Wilson.
