The Worst Case Scenario

There leaving were my parents and my little sister.

"Oh shit!" I tried to hide behind Kyle, but he just turned around wondering why I was trying to hide, but when I tried to tell him to turn around again, my sister saw me.

"LEIGH!" she yelled running straight for me, and toppling on top of me. When we stood back up she started crying and wouldn't let go of me. Seeing my sister brought light into my world. I haven't seen my sister in years! I couldn't help myself, i just started to cry. My mom walked up to us wanting to see who she was hugging, and when she saw who it was she gasped while tears started pouring over.

"Hey mom,"  I said while waving. She came over and gave me a huge hug. But my father just stood as far away from me as possble. I just glared at him. I really don't like my father, he's so many words that it's hard to name. Just before my mom turned around, Zoe decided to start crying. I groaned just as my mom turned to look at her.

"Well, who's this?" she asked walking over to Zoe's carseat. My mom startede cooing and talking baby talk to Zoe.

"Mom...." i said trailing off. "Meet your grand-daughter"  I said smiling guiltily. She and my sister looked at me with their jaws hanging and there eyes really huge. She whispered 'my grand...' before she passed out.

A couple of minutes passed by before she woke up. I missed seeing my sister and my mom. But my dad is the worst man you could possibly meet.

"My grand daughter?" my mom asked again. I nodded as she got up and walked over to, Zoe. "can i hold her?" she asked looking at me with plead in her eyes. I said that she could. The way she looked at Zoe, was the way that she used to look at me. It was a motherly look, the look that I use with my daughter. My sister was still looking at me. She had tears already flowing down her face. I walked up to her and hugged her.

"You can hold her too!" I said kissing the top of my sisters head. She walked over to my mom and the now half asleep Zoe. My sister asked my mom for her niece, so my mom took Zoe and carefully placed her in my sisters arms. For the first time in who knows how long, my dad talks to me in a caring voice, as if he really cares about me though.

"Leigh," he said, i turned around with a scwol on my face.

"What do you want?" i asked with anger rising in my voice, but then again, i looked at him caringly. So much has changed since i've seen him.

"I'm sorry. You will be a great mother, just promise you'll never turn out like me!" he said while walking out of the store, only to be hit by an on-coming truck.

"DAD!" i screamed running outside of petland. I don't care if he beat me, he's still my father. I won't forgive him for what he did, but he just said broke my heart. Knowing that my father could posibly actually care about me. I bolted outside the doors, and went straight to his still body. I grabbed my purse and dug through it until i found my phone.

The ambulance showed up within minutes. Zoe and Kyle had already left to go leave Zoe and my new puppy with my aunt and uncle. Me, my sister, and my mom all left in my mom's vehicle to go to the hospital.

We arrive minutes after the ambulance. "Leigh why are you here after what dad had done?" my sister asked while cocking an eyebrow.

"Because of what he said to me in Petland!" i said remembering what he'd said.

"What did he say?" she asked. So i qouted what he'd said.

"Dad said 'I'm sorry. You will be a great mother, just promise you'll never turn out like me'" I said starting to cry again.

30 minutes passed and not a single doctor came to tell us any news. I started bouncing my knee, wishing my daughter were here with me. A few minutes before 5:40, Kyle came in with my aunt and uncle behind him, and of course, my baby. I held my arms out for my baby. When she was place in my arms, i just cuddled her close to me.

After 2 hours of waiting, a doctor finally came in the families waiting room and gace us the news. Me and my family all started bawling, I cried so hard that i had to give Zoe back to her father.
