luke hemmings- luke hemmings was probably the most psychotic person you would ever come across. he enjoyed seeing others in pain, enjoyed causing pain. no one apart from his little amount of friends enjoyed being in his present, mostly because of his deranged laugh and haunting smile.
ashton irwin- ashton was put into the mad shack because he was depressed. he never spoke to anyone, never showed even the slightest sign of emotion and never uttered a single word. his family began to get freaked out by his actions and asked the people at briarcliff what to do, and they suggested that he should go to the asylum until he is mentally stable.
michael clifford- michael was locked up in briarcliff when he was found guilty of committing the murder of an old man. he was declared psychotic three days after he was found guilty when the prison guards claim to have heard him talking to himself and sleepwalking.
calum hood- nobody knew why calum was in the asylum other than the people that worked there. he wouldn't tell anyone why, he was too embarrassed to tell anyone, even his bestfriends. he was the first boy to enter briarcliff oit of the eight.
daisy spiegelman- daisy was the first of the girls to enter the asylum, yet still one of the youngest residents in briarcliff. daisy was locked in the asylum when it became known to doctors that she was heavily schizophrenic and her family kicked her out on the streets because she was "insane".
cara williams- cara has a common disorder called "paranoid personality disorder" (PPD) and always feels like she's in danger and under threat. cara came to the asylum by choice, she thought that she'd be safe at briarcliff. she couldn't have been more wrong.
paige short- unlike the others, paige isn't actually insane. she just has a wild imagination which was mistaken for schizophrenia. she's the newest addition to the "briarcliff family" as the nuns that run the house like to call it.
ella edwards- ella has a rare case of anorexia, and was admitted to hospital 2 years before she was then transferred to briarcliff where hopefully her condition would stabilise. Once she had made a full recovery she thought she would be allowed to leave, but the nuns wouldn't allow her to leave because after all, what happens in briarcliff, stays in briarcliff.
