It had been about to weeks. The routine was the same. Wake up at the crake of dawn so I could go down to the kitchens before the day began and grab food. We would run for about half an hour on the most popular paths so all of the lady's could ogle at Aiden. You'd think that when someone's engaged you'd hold back a bit but these lady's had no self control. We would then go up to a secluded pasture to practice. I had gotten really good at sword fighting and won against Aiden. They taught my other stuff like archery and different weapon but I hadn't mastered them yet. Today was different though. I was going into the city. I hadn't left the castle grounds yet and I was really excited. It was actually Liam who was taking me, Id always assumed that it would be easier to persuade Aiden to take me.

I met Liam by the horse stables. I walked up to him, a little nervous, "what we doing here".

"Um.. how did you think you were getting to the city?" He asked.

"I can rides horses"

"Well, guess you'll have to learn"

"I'm wearing a dress" I kinda yelled. Not really. But I was wearing a dress, it white with bluebells. Liam didn't seem to have gotten the memo and he took my by the waist and pulled my up onto one of the horses. He easily swung himself onto the horse next to mine.

"So If you shake your hands while your holding the-"

"Liam, how stupid do you think I am?"

"Very" he said. Looking ahead, he spurred the horse on. I followed suit. Luckly their wasn't even much of a road between the castle and main town. It was more of a 10 meter road paved road to the castle gates that opened a large colorful market. It was similar to the port market in Eathear, except this market was much bigger. It made me long for that beautiful island.

"Did we need to bring the horses" I wishpered to Liam, as we waded, well, the horses, through the hoards of people.

"Yes, how else can we get to all the good booths, you'd be crushed other wise."

"Whats in that both?" I asked quizzically, motioing towards a booth labled cogs' curios. It reminded me of Bumble's Jumbles, the shop that held all types of odds and ends.

"Dunno", I don't think i've ever seen it before. Must be new". We slipped off our horses and went up to the stall. The frame was intactly carved out of spruce wood and the front was cluttered with anything from glowing potions, books that sparkled and pulsating rocks in every color. Something caught my eye in the corner of the booth. A sword was chained to the ceiling, it was made out of a black metal, with ancient runes carved into it.

"What's that" I asked the owner, an old man with a wispy white beard, while pointing the dangling sword.

The man looked at me quizzically, "ahh... now that's a dark stone sword... would you like to look at it?" He took it down and placed it in my hand, the runes glowed slightly and I shivered. Know way "dark stone" was a thing. The owner was probably making it up for a sale, however I couldn't be sure...

Back at the castle I couldn't stop thanking Liam, "really thank you" I said breathlessly.

"No problem, you did need your own sword, plus dark stone is really rare, we were lucky this guy sold it to us for cheap"

"Wait, dark stone is a real thing?"

"Uhh yeah... dark forest, didn't you live in Elanevor"

"Yeah but dark forest, dark stone, kinda basic" I said heading towards my door, "night"

"Night", I shut the door and placed the sword in the back of the closet, away from prying eyes. I slipped of my dress, fell onto my bed, and fell into a deep sleep.
